Interesting UFC went this approach, instead of feeding him people he can beat, like Poatan. To me, this is nothing but a UFC grudge match. Take out the stars that we just paid money for, PRIDE style, then lie about it, even though the emails exposed it, and we all know this is going on. Very interesting. MVP is a star, with the right match ups could easily add excitement. But they are more interested in damaging their own cattle.

Yeah absolutely brutal probably the most inherently dangerous injury I've seen in MMA. Like I said I hope it's the last one but in retrospect considering Cyborg was all right in the end it's still a badass feather to have in your hat for MVP

Obviously there are always people who love a guy and people who hate him, so if you just focus on one part of that equation because you already have the idea that part of the equation is the popular one/dominant one, you will just see what you want to see and not necessarily create the most objective perspective on the matter.

Two weight classes apart. And Poatan is an infinitely harder fight than Holland at any weight class

I don't really get the talk of him being past prime, sure he's a little older but his best performances against good competition have been in his last few fights.

I also don't get the talk of Holland being a bad matchup or anything. They made the fight for a reason, and it's not because they want to kill off MVP's hype ASAP.

I think MVP beats Holland but on another note he gets way too much attention because of being exciting, to me the dancing around and throwing air shots to a decision is not exciting at all but a lot of people seem to think low percentage flashy kicks are entertaining.

I really liked seeing Logan Storley beat him with his wrestling though, he got exposed there getting beat by a 5'9 guy with like 70 inch reach yet he couldn't escape positions or do anything, this is the problem with the UFC specifically is that they prefer to snub the actual real deserving fighters in favor of dramatics like showboating and trash talk that's why I've missed 5 of their last events except the Aspinall vs Pavlovich fight, really could care less for Colby or Paddy or many of the fighters on their roster am interested in PFL now that they have Bellator.

I didn't think he got exposed against Storley at all, I thought Logan was going to beat him easily but it was very close and you can even argue for MVP winning. Logan is a world class fighter.
