Crime Musk's xAI buys Musk's X social media platform for $33 billion

They're not just freaking out about the midterms, they're freaked out about the special elections coming up.

Trump could lose the house on Tuesday. That's why they had to pull Stefanik from getting nominated to the UN.

The Republicans have already lost special elections in areas Trump won by over 20 points.

The funny part is, it's their fault because Trump wanted to put loyalists in government, that he had to select from the house. Gaetz political career ended over it as well.
Gaetz was on his way out if he had stayed in the House. That report would have come out. His only chance was to leave. Luckily that didn't fly. Maybe my memory is foggy, but I remember it going down that way. Regardless, your points it solid.

With narcissists like Elon and Trump, the last fall is always the most spectacular one

See Epstein, Weinstein, Cosby, the ongoing downward spiral of Kanye, etc... it's inevitable that the thing that got them there is what drags them down

“He’s done it with all of his businesses,” Barnes told Fortune.
Musk has reportedly collected at least $38 billion in funding through government contracts, loans, subsidies, and tax credits that go as far back as 20 years, according to a recent Washington Post analysis.
Musk might even be making a play to fold in artificial intelligence by creating a market for chatbots and other applications in the government, Barnes said, calling it the ultimate contract. There are some signs that this could already be happening, such as one of his staffers reportedly creating an AI chatbot to streamline processes at DOGE. Musk is founder and CEO of xAI, which makes the Grok chatbot that’s available to use on his X social network. xAI is rumored to be raising a $10 billion funding round at a $75 billion valuation, Bloomberg reported last month. But xAI, despite only being two years old, has also benefited from tax breaks: As Fortune reported in January, xAI signed a 10-year data center deal in Atlanta, finalized the day after Christmas, which shows that xAI and Musk’s X will together receive a property tax discount worth an estimated $10.1 million. The companies had spent a reported $700 million for equipment to fill the center.

“This is a way for him to sort of carve out a rent-seeking opportunity extraordinaire,” Barnes said.

Wakey wakey.

He's robbing Peter to pay Paul, but in this case Peter is you, the taxpayer, and Paul is Elon.
There's no way that tosser pays taxes, especially in the US.

It won't be your shitposting that will be used to train his Ai. It will be done with all the PII he has been given access to via DOGE.

Also not sure of the legality of all this, but using investor money from one company to cover the losses on the purchase of another company seems... sketchy.
Indeed, I doubt he could care less if Trump were impeached tomorrow and DOGE disbanded on the spot. With this deal and having plundered all that data, everything after that is gravy.

This move tells me Twitter has lost an ass ton of money. Raise money for AI and then bail yourself out of a company that loses money. Doubt its legal, but Trump and Leon's frat boys, like BigBalls at DOGE have managed to fire any enforcement out there. The true suckers are those that gave Leon money. Dont worry our tax dollars will fund Leon's Mars fantasy and we will be giving money to a dude, whose CyberCucks, have panels falling off of them, and have had a shit load of recalls.
The plus side with cutting all these regulations, I can finally see a river on fire, while listening to Marvine Gaye's "What's Going ON" it has been on my bucket list. Thanks Trump.
Also you Incel; Leon and Sundowning Trump lovers on Sherdog, if you ever find a lady that does not find you repulsive, play some Marvin Gaye and watch the panties drop. Too bad his father killed him. Dude has one of the greatest male singing voices ever.

You do know that localities and states give tax breaks to companies so that they will move to those areas?

I ain't saying they should, but its a common practise.

He bought Twitter at a loss using (heavily subsidised) Tesla stock, which is now dropping like a stone, and now he's just used stock in another (heavily subsidised) company to buy both of them. You don't see a pyramid scheme defrauding the government and the investors here?

The entire EV industry was/is subsidised. Do you want electric vehicles or not? Btw, it appears he's buying X with investor money; I haven't heard the actual investors complain, but let's not quibble over facts.

Also, Tesla was $275 when he bought Twitter. You guys act like Musk is about to go broke because his Tesla stock is all the way down to $260. Just admit you guys are rooting against him.

Gaetz career was over period. He resigned to keep the ethics report from coming out, and AG was just Trump's way of trying to protect his homie.

Same playbook

You haven't heard them complain--yet. We'll see what happens.

The walls are closing in again I see

Same playbook

Back in the late 90s we knowingly overaid for several small fiber optic companies and called it goodwill investments. Could he have paid less as an insider?

Sure he could have bought it cheaper, but
2 courts ruled that he essentially paid fair value for Solar City, plus don't forget that they're the ones that had the technology for his charging station.

I don't get the virtiol; federal and state govt was throwing money at green energy companies (Solendra, Solar City, GM) are you just mad the Elon and his cousins got some of it?

They love the “Tesla is subsidized” line. Haters gonna hate.

The "you just hate Elon" framing in and of itself is weird. First of all there are tons of scams in green capitslism, but that's because of how capitalism works in crony governments that are borderline fascistic. Come up with the right scam and there's a good chance you could be fed taxpayer money. No one is saying green energy investment should cease, but at the very least there could be more diligence. Leon's entire lack of delivery on promised made is clear evidence of that. He has managed to fail upward repeatedly and gotten by on personality, until people realized that was also a scam. Now, yes, he is hated and people are mad that he conti ues to be fed hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars while doing everything he can to both avoid taxation and make working class lives harder.

People dont owe him special consideration. He's an @sshole who shouldn't get another taxpayer dime at this point.
