I got a love/hate feeling about 50 kicks on each leg on the pads.

I just heard bad things about booking accomodations at Phuket top team, don't do it.
What did you hear? I was going to book at the end of the year.
I hear that they supposedly, "lose" your booking info and try to upsell you a different accomodation. Same happens with Tiger. Just book a hotel, try it out, and if you like it book the accomodation there so it doesn't happen.

PTT is a ripoff for guests. I went last summer and man I was not happy at all. To keep it short and to the point I'll just highlight some issues I experienced.
1) Noone picked me up at the airport, even though I prepaid and I emailed 2 days in advance with details, flight no. etc.
2) Toilets were often clogged, showers did not work properly
3) Booked privates with trainer, trainer no showed
4) Went to bangla stadium to watch fights, asked 500bht EACH guest (a shitload of money in thailand) for a ride there
5) Power was often out, no power in rooms, refrigerator
It has good reviews but you have to book well in advance because they limit the amount of students for quality and spots fill up very fast. I love Chiang mai, but Santai is 40 mins outisde of it. Did you look into Pai too? It's 4 hours from chiang mai and you could possibly visit on the weekends. The two camps there are pretty good.
I know there is a lot of bad shit about phuket, but I liked the place because it had something for everyone and lots of other people doing the same thing you're doing to hang out with.
If you man up and learn to drive a motorbike (can be done in an hour), but Phuket will be easy. If not, you can walk or bike to get food and items around you with no problem. You'll be tired from training anyway so you won't be going far during the week anyway (weekend is a different story). Taxis are more expensive than other places, but the price will go down if you get more people to join you. I would go to Phuket just for the muay thai experience with others.
Bee at Charn Chai is a very good trainer. But I hated Pai. Stinky hippy backpackers.
Haha, Pai does seem a bit secluded for me is it hard to get to from Chiang mai? Will be a lot of traveling for me from London.
