Elections MTG to resign?

Sure, but minds can change. Especially if shit gets a bit too real. She says the Charlie Kirk assassination got to her, and in her position, I can believe it. It's all fun and games, until you see a dude get executed and bleed out in front of his wife and kids. Might just not be worth it to her. We all kind of laugh at "death threats" that these people receive on the daily, like it's just business as usual, but it can weigh on a person in the wake of one of those threats becoming real.

I agree that she was that gal, in terms of ego n' shit, but it can always be cracked. There are always tests of your resolve in a position such as hers. Few are as real as Trump. I can believe she just broke. Especially when she's sitting on millions of dollars, and doesn't have to really give a shit.
Possible, but far less cogent to argue this based on timing. If Kirk's assassination got to her, she would most fear the radical left, not the radical right, and she would have made this declaration months ago. It comes after her turn against Trump, and him becoming hostile to her, not after the Kirk assassination.

She's getting it from both ends now, though. Scary shit.

Fair enough, but I just don't see the rift being the big deal that ended her. She's got more than enough baggage to bury her as a politician, but seemed to enjoy dancing on that razor wire. Her turn against Trump was bizarre enough, so maybe she thought she had a strategy that just didn't work out. Word is, she was eyeing a Senate seat and got shown some polls that made it impossible. Then she hastily tried to reinvent herself, and it didn't work out. Might've just thrown in the towel after that. Who knows?

Strange woman, that's for sure.

Definitely a credible theory.

No, I don't buy this at all. She strikes me as narcissistic as Trump. She loves the spotlight. She puts herself in it as much as she possibly can. She chases the spotlight the way unscrupulous lawyers chase ambulances. There is no truly bad press, as she sees it, except no press at all.

I just don't believe she leaves all this so easily. Not willingly. Besides, there's no telling what the future holds. Trump won't be positioned to be a kingmaker if he can't get the economy and the price of goods under control.

Weve seen that going against trump in the maga trump/epstein climate is politcal career suicide for Republicans.

I cant think of any republican in the last eight years that have been able to sustain a career after going against him. And ones that did had to do a complete 180 from Cruz, Rubio to Vance.

His base is unwaveringly cult like and once he called her a "traitor" for the epstein file release, she was done.

How strange a coincidence that her last day is 2 days before her retirement after making millions from insider trading.

Admire her balls standing up to all y'alls Messiah when very many men didn't but she's still a flippin Jewish laser beams nutbag.

There's plenty:

Also, understand this: everything changes. Faster than you could believe was possible. You'll be amazed how quickly the horde can turn on someone.

Of course there are plenty, trumps entire former cabinet and even VP said hes unfit for the presidency.

How many of them are still active politicians?
You seem to be ignoring the names on that list under the "Current" tags.

This has nothing to do with Kirk. She saw that MAGA was leaving her behind.

She is an awful person that is positioning herself for a run for Senate.

I kinda respect her for that.

@Madmick Can you be nice for once? A nice conversation?

I would like to have a nice conversation with you.
I made a simple point, and it's a wisdom I've gained over the course of my life as a political observer.

The favor of the people changes. Faster than you can imagine. As ludicrous as it seems, someone as stupid as MTG could have been one of the greatest benefactors of Trump falling from grace if the economy continues to sour under his second administration. She could have been seen as the champion to inherit the MAGA mantle. The one who held fast to their most sacred desires (ex. release the Epstein files) when even Teflon Don wavered.

It's difficult to envision such a underdog-ascending narrative with this resignation.

She doesn't require support to remain in office. She only needs it to be re-elected. So the notion evaporating support instigated this is stupid. The notion that Republicans cannot endure in spite of opposing Trump is objectively wrong as I showed.

I don't care if you find my refutation of bad arguments as impolite. It's not personal. It's just logic.

Concession accepted.
Ha if your point was to say there are a minute number of active politicians among a vast number that careers have ended by going against trump-

Then yeah, lol!!

Point taken.

There is nothing here that I disagree with other than her taking the MAGA mantle. MAGA is waning. Death throws.

Ever watch an animal die? They try to gasp.....until they can't. You look them in the eye, and wonder how in the fuck you got there.

Trump:
"Marjorie “Traitor” Brown, because of PLUMMETING Poll Numbers, and not wanting to face a Primary Challenger with a strong Trump Endorsement (where she would have no chance of winning!), has decided to call it “quits.” Her relationship with the WORST Republican Congressman in decades, Tom Massie of Kentucky, also known as Rand Paul Jr. because he votes against the Republican Party (and really good legislation!), did not help her. For some reason, primarily that I refused to return her never ending barrage of phone calls, Marjorie went BAD. Nevertheless, I will always appreciate Marjorie, and thank her for her service to our Country! President DJT"

You need to pick up the phone, kids.
People can go BAD if you dont.

Perhaps that is her assessment. Yet it's possible she could have reinvented herself in a more moderate or populist fashion retaining much of that base with her stance on health care, for example. You never know. We all thought it was inconceivable Trump could win again after his defeat at the hands of an ancient milquetoast sidekick and January 6th, and yet...he won far more convincingly the second time.

The point is the most compelling, logical estimations of her motive for this resignation are rooted in the speculation Trump has dirt on her. It's not the only possibility. It is by far the most compelling one.
