yeah. i got a a handful of loose play + collector boosties, the prerelease kits ofc (+ one extra kit to take home), & all the edh precons, which i’ll sit on for now until it becomes clear that this set’ll get printed into the ground. still not sure if it’s worth going in on a box[es], so prob won’t buy any until me & my friend group get together for some dranks, drugs, & drafts one of these weekends

I was able to get 3 collector boxes but didn't buy anything else, I believe the play boxes will come down from these prices eventually and will scoop some FF stuff the next time I'm on land. I can get a ff play box case for $999, shipping and tax included but don't want to spend a grand on that at the moment

Did you get decent pre order prices? I also scooped a regular commander case.

I honestly the bubble pops a bit and the scalpers race to the bottom but thats unlikely, at least with the collector boxes. The recent market conditions have attracted many who want a quick flip it would seem, many who would otherwise not be involved in the game.

I got most of it from Stomping Grounds who (generally) has the best prices around if you pre-order early. Some I got from my Alpha Investments Patreon but paid more than SG (Should have bought more at lower prices), I really just use him as a backup because he tends to overcharge on hyped sets since he doesn't price anything until the day of the sale.

I'm only interested in the Yoshitaka Amano(?) FF artist cards. I think that's the guy who did the Japanese Super Famicom/PlayStation box art. The other artists' art that I've seen don't look so good.

I saw an article that said the non-English prints had various errors like artist credit, rarity, and actual game use function QC problems.

I only saw MTG Final Fantasy product three separate times and individual packs once.

Seems MTG Spider-Man is releasing soon, and I read there's another Marvel MTG following at some point.

Not a fan of the Spiderm'n IP and especially the price. The set seems lazy and small and just wrong for the game but it'll sell, just not to me... Apparently there's been some conflict with Marvel so maybe this will be the last one! Also no interest in Avatar...

Did pick up a Beta Zombie Master and a Gwendlyn, both LP/mp and each was $150 but the store threw in a LP/nm Winding Canyon

It's hardly recognizable, you can attack with Ryu only to be blocked by sponge Bob and Enzio from assassin's creed, then pass the turn where you'll be bodied by Jumbo Cactuar for 10k damage... Final fantasy, Spiderman, etc... they reprinted the Beta set as essentially proxies in boxes of four 15 card packs for $1k... Collector boxes have skyrocketed and multiple boxes less than two years old are $1k+. Demand is insane and most of the last five sets or more are hard to find and are all overpriced...

Not sure about the play formats as I play very casually and pretty rarely. Vintage is stagnant and hasn't even come close to the increase everything else has seen, everything's a bubble except vintage.

the gameplay still rules, but standard is in the dumps, pioneer hardly exists, & cost has skyrocketed (singles still mostly reasonable though, tbf). modern & pauper are still really fun at least.

At Costco, I saw what looked like MTG assortment presentation gift box with a variety of different packs and I don't know what else. I thought I saw something saying either die-cut or metal. I don't think any of the packs were Final Fantasy or Spider-Man.

Only thing of Spider-Man I saw so far were empty trays of the packs.
