haha... I alwayz seem to end up in that situation & tweeking it out to the last second. The competition prior to this one, I literally was studying the clock & scrambling & submitted at the exact time it was due.. lol.

Is this your first time using MS Paint? did you use a drawing pad or tablet or something? I use a mouse & couldn't imagine pulling something like that off with a mouse.

I love your artistic style... curious to hear about your artistic background if you'd like to share.

Thank you. Not the first time but the first time after a very long period. I used a graphic tablet. One without the screen. Haven't been using a mouse for years. I do everything with my pen. I'd much rather draw with a touchpad than a mouse. Would be slower but the precision would still be there. With the mouse i'd have to zoom in a lot more and i'd also need a much more time. I studied design and painting. Also do 3D work. Still a newb in mspaint though. Wasn't aware that i could make gradient effect in it before today.

I'm curious to give this a go. Not sure what you're talking about though exactly... "a tablet without a screen?" Can you link me to one like you got on Amazon.com?

or maybe a link to something you recommend. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of money, but if it's in the 2 digits I might give it a go.

I'll always be a mouse and Paint kinda guy, that was the point of the original MS Paint threads, that we work with the shittest platform and the shittest tools and see if we can poop out some gold

No objections to anyone using anything else, just not my thing

I also only use a rotary phone, whistling kettle and have a TV with kerchunk buttons!

so you draw down there, but you see it on your monitor. That's seems trickier than actually having a screen that you can see the image of what you're drawing on. Is it pretty tricky or do you get used to it?

Did you do your shoop this time with it?

I have a Wacom Intuos small tablet and was about to upgrade to the medium pro version but I'm going to hold off now as I think I'm going to get a Wacom Cintiq pro later in the year the Cintiq range is the monitor version:

I think the normal Intuos tablet is fine for drawing and shooping and will probably be what you're looking for to see if they are for you.

They do take a little getting used to at first but once you get going they are very good for certain things I still use the mouse a lot too though when using PS and in Paint, for my shoop from this round I used the mouse for everything other than sketching Jones at the start.

You can get cheaper versions of the Wacom stuff but I did a lot of research as I was about to upgrade and the reviews which aren't sponsored basically all recommend the Wacom ones, you can get the Intuos ones new for a fairly decent price and if you are just wanting to try one out without spending too much you can get them second hand on e-bay fairly cheap as once you get used to them and you get into drawing and digital painting people upgrade to a one with better pressure sensitivity so you see the entry-level ones that are in good condition fairly often for good prices on e-bay.
