I absolutely love the backlash the LGBT people are getting over this. its about time somebody stood up to them
Goddamn oppressed minorities. About goddamn time someone put a boot down on their throats!
Oh boo hoo, poor them :icon_sad:
They are all so brave :icon_lol:
I mean, its just like the civil rights struggle of the 60's all over again :icon_neut
Oh you are introducing a third angle, I like it!
Let me introduce a fourth.
Looking at this abstractly and not getting into the gay marriage debate, it seems more and more that mob mentality is controlling public discourse in a public self policing way. Thought police! Very Orwellian. Is it me, or is society heading in this direction? Where does it lead? If someone could figure out how to affect public opinion for their own ends, this might be used as a weapon!

what is your problem with the Gay community?
No, the difference between the civil rights struggles in the 60s compared to the gay rights struggle is that you don't hate black people.
LGBT folk don't want to be equal, they want to be special.
More silliness. Many people, like me, argue for this sort of shift because we've seen how the previous religiously motivated values hurt and marginalized groups. The shift is more away from that and towards values decided by state funded secular committees.
Logical, I have no problem with the gay community, what I do have a problem with, is the trolls that think they can silence people or have them resign all because they don't support their beliefs. I also have a problem with the rhetoric being used by these fucking maggots. here is a good post I read on this subject last night, one that I completely agree with
"LGBT has grown into a radical anti Christian, anti constitution organization. They don't get the fact that while people are forced to treat them equally those same people will still have the same views. I understand their financial desires and that can be done with a civil union. The push for the word marriage is them sticking their middle finger at the church because the church won't rewrite the bible to suit them"
I see them as nothing but trolls
I don't hate anyone unless they fuck with me or my family and friends, and to think that there are radical groups out there that will likely marginalize, or even punish my children for not seeing their behaviour as normal, quite frankly disgusts me. I never gave a shit about what gay people get up to...until they started trying to bully people into agreeing with them. no matter what the subject is, that kind of shit is, and should be answered with a big fat middle finger
PS which of the many rewritten versions of the bible are we talking about ? Next thing you know Muslims will be getting upset that they are told to dress a certain way.
I live in a city with A LOT of gay people...many of them friends.
None of them are as what you describe.
This is a pretty common sentiment.I don't hate anyone unless they fuck with me or my family and friends, and to think that there are radical groups out there that will likely marginalize, or even punish my children for not seeing their behaviour as normal, quite frankly disgusts me. I don't want my kids to marginalised because they don't believe in a god or even the "right" god.

The problem with this comment sentiment is that gay people aren't trying to bully you into agreeing with them. Instead, they're having the audacity to ask for or demand the same rights as other people.
How awful of them. Maybe they don't always ask as obsequiously as you'd like but too fucking bad. Why should they have to bow and scrape and beg for rights and legal protections you got without having to even ask?
The reality is that "marriage" is not just a religious construct, it is also a legal construct. Denying access to that legal construct is discriminatory. Funding a campaign to deny legal protections to gays is funding bigotry.
This is the EXACT double standard that I was talking about.
Glennrod is literally saying "How DARE gay people attack us while we hate on them and attack them"
I don't understand this detachment from reality.
