More like why is Volk getting this shot. At least the first Evloev/Lopes fight was exciting and Lopes was a short notice replacement making his UFC debut. It should be Evloev vs Lopes while Volk tries to pick up a win.

Would be great to see that rematch, but let's be honest any popular champion who is vaguely dominant gets a rematch when losing their title.

As an aside, I remember that Lopes Vs Evloev fight being really close with the latter being caught in subs twice. Lopes has also been busier.

Fair enough, at least you’re consistent. What I don’t get is all the folks who call Ank boring for wall stalling but love Merab who basically built his career on wall stalling lol.

Even though I'm glad Magomed won, I'm a tad disappointed that he kind of stalled out the end of the fight. And Alex definitely didn't bring his A game. I would like to see a rematch. Even though I hate the majority of Alex fan base, I like and respect Alex because he is a great guy and extremely active.

The fight wasn’t great but I honestly think Alex deserves more blame. He was on the back foot the majority of the fight and refused to take any risks, it’s weird how everyone is pointing to Rd 4 when Alex didn’t do much for 4 rounds which were mostly striking.

Inactivity is the worst enemy of success. You don’t even need to be exciting, just get off the sidelines. Being boring doesn’t help but if these guys would just shut up and sign contracts, their careers would advance much faster.

The difference between Umar and Alex is that nobody was accepting fights with Umar and the division was rank squatting, Corey was the one guy who happened to accept. Whereas Alex was literally ushered to the front of the line.

This whole “no one wanz to fite me brazzah” shit from the neckbeard camp is getting old. Umar got his shot, and he blew it. Just like Ank blew his first shot. Ranked fighters are often reluctant to fight down in the ranks to unknown or unpopular fighters, especially ones that are really good. It’s not like this only happens to guys from Dagestan. Stop with the victimhood. It’s pathetic.

Fighters should be more like Merab. Just keep fighting and winning and you’ll eventually be undeniable.
