Movies like One Hour Photo?

Yes. Good movie for sure. Weird seeing Keanu in the role he played in that one. Stellar cast.

Oh it fits. And it’s arguably the best film of the ones suggested. Damon is really creepy in that film. What a cast in that one too- Damon, Law, Paltrow, Hoffman, Blanchett, Rebhorn, etc all delivering awesome work.

Probably one of Damon’s best films when it comes down to it.

Yeah. I really liked the gift. And I agree with Keanu playing against type. I enjoyed the performance however unkeanu it was.

As for talented Mr. Ripley, it's one of those movies that has stuck and grown on me after I watched it. It wasnt the kind of movie I really expected to like. It's slow burn for sure, but that boat scene damn.

Have you done something to your hair?

That boat scene is so tense and well done.

I can’t move without you moving. It gives me the creeps. YOU give me the creeps.

The way the score complements the change in Damon’s demeanor when Law calls him boring is also just ideally done. Minghella and co. and the actors just were all spot on with that film. Slow burn as you said, but some of the best thrillers are like that. I believe Hitchcock probably would have loved that movie and could have adapted that book himself really well. It has some of the themes and aesthetics that he often dealt with.

I like how that's done in the movie. You start liking Laws character and you start to believe that they really have a bromance going on. So when Law puts him in his place, you understand why, but also it makes you feel for Damon because the movie puts you in his own naive point of view. It's hard enough to make a good point about damon being creepy and Law justifiably berating him. Its another to do that PLUS make you feel empathy for damon being rejected by someone he really liked.

Unlawful Entry with Ray Liotta / Kurt Russell is another one that has slipped below the radar over the years.

Play Misty for Me is one of the old school progenitors of the genre with Clint Eastwood.
