Movies Movie News and Notes

I never knew that Titanic being moved up from summer 97 to winter 97 is what screwed us out of getting the complete version of Event Horizon.

They've always been vague about exactly what would have been in the 'complete version' of Event Horizon.

The theatrical cut is 90 minutes, minus the opening/end credits, and supposedly the 'complete version' would have been over 2 hours... of extended images of hell?

Most of the time less is more in horror, and with what we got in that movie was what we needed. Anything more would have been entering Hellraiser levels of pointless gore and debauchery.... and would have gotten old very quickly.

I hope Capt Miller died instead of going to Hell. :(
Amazon announced they were making a show back in the spring but I haven't heard anything about it since.

Capt Miller fate is one of the grim-dark elements of Event Horizon.

As for the Amazon show, I think Event Horizon has huge potential to be expanded from a 90-minute movie to a multiple-episode mini-series. Amazon says its a 'TV Show' but I don't see how it could be expanded into multiple seasons, but I'm open-minded some damn good writers could figure it out.

If the Event Horizon TV series is successful, it gives me hope we'll eventually get a Dead Space TV series.

If you're not familiar with it @My Spot, between the first two games, two animated movies, and expanded universe material there's ALOT of source material to inspire seasoned SciFi/Horror writers into making the best horror TV series ever.

There's a CGI Gundam Netflix trailer and doesn't look bad. I thought the Netflix Gundam movie was to be live action.

EDIT: I think Requiem for Vengeance is a six episode half hour limited series, not the live action movie.

Heathers meets Warm Bodies. I like it.

This is Liza Soberano's big Hollywood break and I hope it will lead to bigger things in the near future for her career. I think she's one of the most prettiest actresses in the world today.

Warner Bros has Paul Thomas Anderson set to direct Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn as well as Regina Hall in an untitled film that will begin production this year in California. Anderson wrote the script, and he will produce the film with Sara Murphy and Adam Somner.

The film is currently untitled and they’re keeping the logline under wraps.
