2nd Trailer for GRAN TURISMO Starring David Harbour, Orlando Bloom
True. I was thinking a few months ago it would do well, like around $90 million opening weekend. But never would have expected it to debut at $150+ million.@Dragonlordxxxxx I can confidently say no one predicted that Barbie would have an opening weekend to rival that of Marvel's biggest Tent Polls and a better start than anything for DC.

Both leads in the "Barbie" film are very well liked, and the film appeals to children. This is one of those films where children want to see it, and parents are good with it too. Those type of films historically have made a smash at the box office.True. I was thinking a few months ago it would do well, like around $90 million opening weekend. Yeah all of those things are true and it's easy to say now in hindsight. But what @heavyarms21 was saying is that nobody here could have predicted the $150+ million opening weekend. Most, if not all, in here would have said $60 to $90 million if asked to guess the opening weekend a few months ago. Both leads in the "Barbie" film are very well liked, and the film appeals to children. Yeah, I agree. Films have also become less predictable that way since COVID.Yeah all of those things are true and it's easy to say now in hindsight. No idea what it will make, but I expect it will underperform. So here's a fun challenge for everybody. Predict what Aquaman 2's worldwide gross will be (poll in the link):

James Wan is the 2nd best director that's risen to prominence in the last 20 years, 2nd to Nolan. So if he's getting so pissed at the studio he's threatening to sue its saying alot.
Doesn't matter if its coming out this year or next year, its guaranteed to be a dud for multiple reasons. #1 being James Gunn confirmed all movies before his Superman movie are Non-Canon... which killed any motivation for fans to see Aquaman2 or BlueBeetle.

I can't seem to find any thing to corroborate this news other than the Instagram account you posted. None of my usual comic book sites are also reporting this. Is it possible that this is just a clickbait fake news?
Also I don't think Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling can open a movie before this. If I'm not mistaken, none of their previous lead movies did particularly well. Barbie is just a perfect combination of the IP's first live-action adaptation, good cast, good script and great word of mouth/social media explosion capturing the cultural zeitgeist.I thought 60-70 mill and thought that would be huge for the film in and of itself.
That’s a staggering debut. I get that Robbie and Gosling are very well liked and that the film has cross-generational appeal but that is a massive weekend take. Never would have guessed.
Oppenheimer also did about thirty mill more than I expected. Nolan’s one of that small group of directors who can draw interest just by it being their project but a dialogue-heavy drama clocking in at 3 hours. 80 mill is really impressive.
