Mousasi calling out 47 year old Anderson for a boxing fight is weak

Yeah from a fans perspective it would have been better for him to stay and see if he could win the UFC title, but he has to do what is best for him.
Yeah UFC was fucking him over.

Gegard had literally beaten 5 straight top 15 guys (4 of which by finish) and not only did the UFC have zero desire to raise his pay but they also told him "your not fighting for the title till at least 2018 because Bisping wants a money fight against GSP"

I don't blame him for leaving.

So far Anderson Silva is the only mma fighter to win vs a former champion pro boxer in boxing. MMA community still needs Anderson Silva fighting and boxing. He's one of the few mma fighters that can actually transition into boxing even at his older age. Without him it would be all losses. The Evander Hollyfield fight doesn't count, that shouldn't have been sanctioned.
A 47 year old with a slew of children doesn't need to be putting his health at risk to "represent" MMA in boxing or whatever. I still don't get the whole point of it. Boxing's a different sport. If there's going to be some rivalry thing, then it's time for a couple boxers to begin taking MMA fights.

Anyone else feels this way?

Anderson is hilariously past his prime, and has been for so many years now. The man has a steel leg, impaired movement, and a very deteriorated chin and speed... he can still win boxing fights thanks to his technical prowess and against slow plodding part time fighters like Chavez Jr. but shouldn't be sanctioned to fight someone like Gegard.

Mousasi is 10 years younger and should be focusing on getting his ass back to the UFC and fighting for the title IMO. He can still do it and has some years left to compete at the highest level.

Weak stuff.

You did read the entire piece , right ? He said it's a boxing fight hed like to explore cause Andy a name and can hold his own from boxing as weve seen .... also said if not Silva , a real accomplished boxer. He also said hes not calling on Anderson inside a cage as he says Silva too old for that.

A big Mousasi supporter and it bothers me that he should be talking about this AFTER Friday . This is where Gegard has brain farts - I feel hes looking past an undefeated fighter who's only +180 on the line .Going by odds , this should be a competitive fight and against a guy who will be looking to drag him down .

Anderson can probably beat Moose at boxing, despite his age.

But yea, weak ass call out. Mousasi can’t find someone better and closer to his age?!? Instead he wants to dig Anderson out of the ground

Mousasi not in his prime either..

He's doing well currently. I'm sure the pay days for his recent fights is taking care of his family better than anything else he can do besides fighting. If he was getting KO in his recent fights, yes tell him to stop. But he's been winning so using his age to justify him to stop making money when he's still capable to the point where a young Jake Paul who just KO Woodley, who is younger than Anderson Silva, is ducking an old Anderson Silva.

Every fighter puts their health at risk fighting, doesn't matter the age. If they can't compete anymore and just getting blown out then yes stop. But that isn't the case for Anderson Silva. He would still wreck people half his age in boxing. He would be the favorite vs Mousasi in boxing. That says a lot about Anderson Silva's current physical ability and skill set.

So much worse then everyone and their mother begging to box a YouTuber right? I mean who the fuck cares, it's on trend right now. Might as well try to get a piece.

Moose is a beast.
He's not beating Rob, Jared or Izzy at this point though.

Plus, not throwing any accusations but he's 36, does he really want to deal with USADA knocking on his door and making him update his whereabouts?

That said, as for the thread title, it would be a fun exhibition. And Silva has been doing well in boxing. Mousasi has nasty hands and has trained pure boxing. It would sell.

Mousasi didn't like the UFC and left without even letting the UFC make a counter offer to Bellator. Why would he focus on getting back to the UFC when he hated being there?

He didn't say he hated the UFC, he said that they tried to keep him but couldn't budge on the money issue. There was abit more money in Bellator with sponsorships factored in.

Chavez jr. and Silva would both destroy Mousasi in a boxing match. What are you smoking?

Very interested in this!

Source for what ? All of those things are what happened (UFC wasn't interested in a signficant pay raise + had killed sponsorship money with the reebok deal, he had beaten 5 straight ranked fights 4 of which by finish, and UFC told him he wouldn't be getting a title shot because Bisping wanted to wait 8-9 more months for a money fight with GSP).

Silva by KO in a boxing ring. Gegard has no chance
Lol- other way around. Andy biggest name / atmosphere where moose all over Silva. Paul would never fight Gegard. He knows who he is but would make believe he doesn't know who he is. I dont see Silva taking fight, anyway .Itd be fun to see .
I think vitor and Andy want each other
. Theyd both prefer match up

Moose ran from UFC because he kept losing important fights.
??? He ran through everyone on his final 8 fight deal. Only fighter in UFC history to leave on his terms after stopping 5 in a row ( while still actively fighting).

Are u talking about the 2-2 start ? ( lol- u know how many eventual ufc champions start off at 2-2 before going on their title run ?)

Ahh- only on sherdog.

I know I'm on sherdog:

"mousasi doesnt have a boxing background "

" it wouldve been better for mousasi to stay and try and become UFC champ "( yeah - no shit , it was offered up early in nego but a certain brit declined to fight to the dutchman)

- people need to read the actual article -
