Motor Racing 2023

That’s the only thing that gonna keep this season interesting
It's a shame Red Bull has such a gap to everyone because the field behind them is super close. Hopefully the other teams can catch up throughout the season since Red Bull is going to be limited due to wind tunnel penalties and what not.

Yeah. I think it will close up, but rb should have a huge gap to everyone. Like when button won in 2009. They came out the gate so fast, no one could catch them by the end of the year. Let’s see!

Max also has the pace to still win it though. So should be a good race.

Thats the scenario I'm looking at as well, how the development race plays out.

The reduced gaps are already having an impact - Sainz struggling with wear wouldn't have mattered in previous seasons, but now there's a bunch of other cars where a gap previously was.

Max should be second or leading by the end of lap 10 if he doesn't get caught up in mayhem on the start. Red Bull will slow pit Perez to give Max the lead. So many cars were bouncing over the curbs that it's no surprise that a drive shaft failed.

Today should give a good look at Red Bull's/Max's real pace. Last race he coasted to the win not even coming close to pushing most of the race but today he doesn't have a choice.

Good job FIA, giving a penalty for something that happened on lap 18 after the race is over pulling someone off the podium.

Horrible, just horrible.

Lol the shit they pulled on Alonso today is just laughable. They knew Alonso had the pace to get over those 10 secs if he knew of the penalty... Fuck FIA and Mercedes.

They rescinded the penalty. Which just makes the fia look worse. First they don’t give the penalty. Then they wait til the podium ceremony is over, and give the penalty, which is bad optically. Then they take back the penalty which further shows how inconsistent they are still. Terrible look.

Yep, although it's always better when they own up to their errors and set it right. Not doing so is an even worse look.

The real issue is not having the correct controls in place to ensure the penalty is served correctly in the first place. It shouldn't be the team that says "job done, penalty served". The penalty should stand until the officials deem it has been served correctly, not left until long after the fact to decide that might not have been the case.

Formula One has waited a year to apply a penalty.

George "no personality at all" Russel 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 interview;
A lot of hard work in the factory bla bla bla...

Man, I fell a sleep right at the end of Q1. That’s one way to avoid max and Sergio competing, give checo an unreliable car.
