Most technical fight in MMA history?

He didn’t create shit. Jones has been using those for years. Conor fanboys love spreading “fake news”.
Reason why Conor McGregor is Infinite times more popular and beloved than any other fighter will ever be is because he is always one step ahead of everyone in the fight game.

No offense taken my friend, my answer was in a light tone and not snarky at all but thought text it's harder to convey intention.

All in all though I agree nog was a better fighter than cro cop and a better win even for Fedor but Fedor dominated nog while the fight with cro cop was a class, he was the first fighter to really figure out the first crude game plan on how to best cro cop whihh at the time was a great feat. Later on cro cop would get figured out more thoroughly, especially when he came unto the ufc and had to adapt to new rules and environment (octagon vs ring being a huge factor in his demise).

Fedor and his trainers really did their homework that fight.

I think the second Coleman fight he's fighting very smart, arguably moreso than the first match and I think the Hunt match is more calculated risk, that Mark ultimately didnt have the quality to threaten him grappling wise, if he'd have turned that into a slugest it would have been less wise.

I don't think Mirko ever really got "figured out" in the UFC, he showed some weaknesses in adaptation that were exploited and Gonzaga gave a near perfect performance as Randleman did but after that I think you see clear decline. In his second UFC run Mirko just couldnt fight the way he used to, he simply didnt have the speed to land those pinpoint kicks or the movement to dance around people.

What I think Fedor/Mirko does show you in the opening 5 mins especially is that "technical" doesnt need to be "low risk", alot of matches being mentioned were more about fighters picking away at each other but Fedor/Mirko at the start especially is two ultra dangerous guys in each others death zone throwing down but having good enough defence that nobody gets badly hurt.

As far as Shogun/Lyoto goes I think its a bit incorrect to say Rua was using classic MT on Lyoto, I mean some basic technical aspects like the light front leg and the way he throw some kicks yes its from MT but the kind of timing and movement he was using in that match really isnt very similar to classic MT.

......yea but as I already stated he isn’t. That has been a technique used by other fighters before he ever used it.

Go watch it for yourself my friend and come to your own conclusions. That's my opinion and it's pretty evident why it still is talked about today as one of the most technical hw fights of all time.

I mean, When was the last time you saw a fighter defend a very deadly head kick artist's deadliest weapon with a fast countering knee bending low kick?

When was the last time you saw a hw use the Pyramid defense that blocks low, mid and high kicks at the same time?

Someone who understands advanced techniques wouldn't even ask that question. It had nothing to do with hype, I was there, I lived it... Purchased the ppv and analyzed it for myself...i came out of it amazed and made my own conclusions.
He's another new terrible poster.
Let him be lmao

Only for the Masters eyes:
Woodley vs Thompson 2

Absolutely lol at seeing any heavy weight or light heavyweight fights in here with the exception of Fedor vs Cro Cop.

If he got the nod vs Lawler (which many believe) and got the belt, then Maia should've easily become the champion supposing he was Condit's next fight/defense.
Dana would have made an immediate rematch cos that fight was insane

Nate Marquardt vs Ivan Salaverry. Boring fight between two high level guys that were too good to be stopped by the other.

Prime, hungry Fedor was an absolute treat to watch

From my vantage point, it does seem like Fedor's arrogance (due to his fighting and financial success) after the Mirko fight started his downward spiral.

Young Fedor always said he fought for money to help his family. Once he had that money and fame he stopped training properly.

Some of the GPS fights looks technical, some one said Newman and Sakuraba I guess I will go with that.

Several LHW or HW fights were [at least] on par with that one....
