Most overrated acting performance of all time

That black panther bullshit.

Lol at people saying anything by Hanks. Wtf?
Why because black people were in it? Who's saying that movie had oscar worthy performances.

I don't understand why you're assuming I do think it's amazing. I never said anything about Ledger's performance. I simply asked what atg means.
Read it again I quoted another guy and responded to him. How did you miss that?

Oh. Sorry. I have whoever he is on ignore so I don't see when anyone quotes him. It just looked as if it was all addressed to me.

Plays a version of himself in every movie he's ever done. @HI SCOTT NEWMAN

He is not a must watch actor for me either, I don't find him particularly watchable.

That's a movie, not a "performance". Edgelords look for any excuse to shit on that masterpiece.

Overrated does not mean bad.

Ledger as the Joker was very good, but those who claim it as one of the all time great performances in cinema.........Jack Nicholson's joker, whilst a completely different take on the character, was just as good, imo.

Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter is another one. Love SOTL. Love Hopkins. Love the character. But he played it like he was a Bond villain or a Spiderman antagonist. Thought Brian Cox and Mads Mikkelsen did a better job, truth be told.

Really though I think it comes down to a lot of comment on this kind of thing being casual recollections of people not massively interested in cinema. If you do that then your going to tend towards picking out the larger than life performances over something more subtle and layered.

To take it further as well I think theres a tendency to focus on roles that deliver memorable dialog rather than say subtle delivery or physical performance. That's not some beard stroking elitism either as it explains why someone actors like Sly and Arnie got to the top of the action film genre, both good physical actors.

Every nominated picture with Jennifer Lawrence or Bradley Cooper.
Can't agree. Bradley played a fantastic alcohoilic in The star is born - to the degree I cannot un-see him as an alcoholic and wait for him to piss his pants in public

When Tom Hanks played that retard who liked pingpong.

Seth Rogen in pineapple express. Just not a funny person imo. They have to show us at the beginning that he is dating a hot girl to make him appear awesome because he sucks.

Franco took an L just being associated with this mess of a movie.

Who you got and why?

I got Heath Ledgers joker due to him kicking the bucket

I didn't watch TDK until after Ledger already passed away and received the posthumous Oscar. When I finally got around to watching it, I fully expected his acting to be overrated and undeserving of any award, exactly as you claimed.

But boy was I wrong. Heath put on an acting masterclass for that role. If anything, it's highly underrated by people like you.

The movie and plot, on the other hand, is goddamn overrated.

Seth Rogan has been crap in everyone of his movies I've watched.

It’s fashionable to say that performance was overrated.

I like Pacino but if there was ever a guy that goes over the top it’s him.
Scarface
Devils Advocate
Scent of a Woman

John Travolta
Face Off
Broken Arrow
Battlefield Earth

Nick Cage
Everything but Raising Arizona and Moonstruck
