Nailed it with Ledger. With that silly, contrived voice he used, it sounds like he belonged in a big bang theory role instead of the joker. Really though, that entire movie is overrated, and as the years go by more and more people are realizing it. Time has its way of sorting these things out.

Joker is a manic character that will suddenly become very still and quiet. And in that moment of silence everyone is on the edge of their seat, waiting to see what he does next. He captured that feeling of unease perfectly.

Very interesting choices there. Definitely didn't know the names of the top two pictures. I had to look them up. lol

So why do you say DDL is overrated in everything? He wouldn't be in your top 10 or top 20 best actors?

I prefer more natural actors. DDL is too over the top for me. He is very good, and I like a lot of his movies, but people act like he is this god and I just don't agree.

He's no better than similar scenery chewing actors like Paul Giamatti (who I prefer and who can actually be a compelling natural actor too) or Jeff Bridges.

Well I respect your opinion, you do have a point. He does come off over the top at times. He's not the most naturalistic actor. Out of the most well known actors out there, I'd say Marlon Brando is the most naturalistic. A Streetcar Named Desire proves it imo. His acting is well balanced in that movie.

Brando is largely credited for popularizing method acting but John Carrol Lynch is a good example of someone who does it better imo. Lynch becomes his characters.



Brando was hampered by simply not getting the scripts guys get nowadays. He was often left trying to turn awful, theatre-style scripts into believable performances.
