I’m imagining some fighters were searched quite often simply because people were trying to keep up with their latest failed PEDs test.
Look at all of the articles out there about Jon’s issues alone.
And I’m sure Conor got some traffic from all of his legal issues.
Google traffic isn’t always good traffic.

never said it was a ranking of the best fighter, artem would ve been no1. just said it is ranking of "fame". whether you like it or not, fame has a big importance in our sport, it is part of the charm ;)

the list is arbitrary and capricious

Interesting points :
the only thing interesting I could dig from the data presented is how Fiodor is currently relevant to any casual observer of MMA. That in conjunction with Reems chokeathon last night and you get a clear overall view of MMA's HW class in 2019. UFC 25 years in the making and every other weight class except HW produces well rounded capable fighters, HW is just cans crushing cans for lack of a better phrase. A decent athlete could become HW champion in no time. Jon Jones is wasting everyone's time.

And are you sure Andy is more relevant? We’ve had rumors of GSP fighting Khabib very recently. At this point Andy won’t be mentioned with anything remotely associated with a title in any division.

I really don't think the popularity of the fighter determined any important factor than popularity itself. This is a fighting sport not Hollywood.

The Justin Bieber and Zeppelin comparison is a solid analogy, what do you want to compare, who is the best musician or who is the more popular celebrity? Jimmy Page don't give two damn shit if Bieber more popular than him in regard to his profession as musician, so do we. We should see MMA as a sport similarly, if Ferguson is less popular than Conman so what? He is a much better and respectable fighter.

This talk about Conor popularity start to make the guy like a "Justin Bieber of MMA',
 
Just goes to show that if you fuck up repeatedly by beating the elderly, destroying someone's property and allegedly rape someone, people will look you up on search engines.

Man it’s hard to be nice when you post replies like this. Did you even read the progression of the thread up to this? Google searches aren’t always positive. Do you realize how many people have searched about Jones and Andy just with the “dick pills” thing alone? It’s too bad they don’t include the searches associated with the names. That would be interesting.

you are completely wrong, why do you think guys like usman or colby had to go though 10 fight win streaks to get TS, whereas guys like conor or Izzy can beat 4 or 5 guys and get TS right away ?

Google trends is not the end all, be all. A popularity contest in and of itself is essentially subjective to an arbitration because it is not truly based on merit.

Didn't mean to rival your thread, just wanted to make a point about Jon Jones and HWs
