Most amazing single fight performances

Who here remembers Joe Lauzon v Gabe Reudiger?

<{anton}>

Not as amazing as this classic, though:

Poor Gabe...

Really underrated performance, but Dom Cruz coming back from a long hiatus and just blasted through Mizugaki. Miz was super tough and Cruz wasn't excatly a finisher but that was a fucking statement. Joe Rogan said after the fight "The looked like a world champion to me"

when i think of hard nosed resilience, cruz is the poster child

I honestly thought merab vs Sean was pretty amazing. He took like 4 strikes to win the belt

Randy vs Chuck 1.. that was amazing, pure and utter beatdown, everyone was picking Chuck to win that fight and Randy was getting old and just came off some bad loses to Barnett and Rico, that fight was all about Chuck vs Tito, and Randy was an afterthought and body to beat

Randy beat up Chuck badly in that fight, not just wrestling, but he was winning the striking clearly, Chuck got hit so much in that fight. Randy looked amazing
Such a good pick. Randy has so many of these in his career. How the hell he managed to beat Gonzaga who had just flawless victory'd Cro Cop, I will never know.

Dos Anjos doing whatever he wanted to Pettis…

Zhang’s most dominant performance happening against probably her most dangerous opponent in Suarez…

Silva moving up in weight and beating a former champion without letting Griffin lay a finger on him…

Couture not letting Sylvia even get started for 25 full minutes…

Romero completely shutting down Machida before finishing him on the ground…

Josh Emmett absolutely obliterating his meniscus and ACL within the first 15 seconds of his fight with Shane Burgos, only to then drop and almost finish him several times.

Jones vs Shogun
Garbrandt va Cruz
Silva vs Griffin
Holloway vs Gaethje
Conor vs Aldo or Alvarez (take your pick)

Most amazing PERFORMANCE, not most amazing MOMENT, right? Silva getting the shit kicked out of him for four rounds isn't exactly a stellar performance. Same for Rampage getting nearly chopped down with low kicks and flash KO'd with an upkick from Arona up to the powerbomb. Those are big turnarounds, not amazing performances, at least not as I understand that term.

For me, my brain immediately goes to Ken Shamrock's second win over Bas Rutten in Pancrase, Cro Cop's annihilation of Wanderlei in the OWGP, and Randy Couture's dismantling of Chuck Liddell in their first fight. Those are my three favorite fighters and those performances are nearly flawless victories.
I see what you're saying as far as "moments" but they are not just moments. The showtime kick alone was a moment.

Rampage and Silva staying in there and coming back to win via finish is a stellar showing or heart, resolve and wherewithal so yes they are performances for sure.

Flawless victories can be stellar especially when it's vs a top tier opponent but IMO a brutal back n forth or come from behind win is more impressive. BJ Penn dismantled everyone when he won which is amazing but coming back through adversity is something else

GSP vs BJ II
Khabib vs Truijillo
Anderson vs Franklin
Bendo vs Nate

Holm vs Rousey --- hindsight is whatever but that was a brilliant performance against the undefeated champ

Anderson vs Franklin or Forrest---just showed the difference in levels

Nate vs Conor 1 --- Off the beach, the slap and the win

Max vs Gaethje--- Amazing performance on a huge night with the perfect ending

Honorable mention---

Bowles vs Torres--- if I recall correctly, he hit Torres so hard it hurt Frank Mir too

And I see what you're saying. Nogueira and Silva managing to snatch victories from the jaws of defeat against Cro Cop and Chael, it's definitely impressive, but, again, when I think of "amazing performances," my first thought isn't of guys getting their asses kicked and escaping by the skin of their teeth. Being able to turn things around, fighting through adversity, they're great qualities and impressive to witness, but the best of the best is when you obliterate someone to the point where you make them look like they don't even belong in there with you. Fedor coming back against Fujita and Randleman was impressive, but him beating Nogueira and Cro Cop at their own games, going right into Nog's guard and making his submissions look weak and walking Cro Cop down and making his striking look ineffectual, that's way more impressive IMO.
