If you actually watch the review its positive. He clearly wanted to give it a B but didn't because a part of him still wants to appeal to the elitist critics.

If I actually watch the review? Well gee I never thought about that before. What a genius idea! Wait I watched it not once but twice before I made that post so what makes you think I didnt? It was a short review in which he spent about as much time critiquing it as he did liking it and regardless of what you want to assume about him he still gave it a C+. The stuff he said he liked was basically the same things everyone agrees was the best parts. The beginning, scorpion, sub zero, Kano, some of the gory aspects.

Nobody is claiming its a videogame version of The Man from Nowhere or crouching tiger hidden dragon here. Crazy expectations some of you had. This was way better than kong vs Godzilla imo.

Our view of positive is different. I never claimed he hated it. I dont even claim to hate it. I linked it with the others because he had some big critiques. He didnt just praise the movie and give it an A or B. So I dont call that a positive review.

I do agree that I had high expectations going in which made me a bit more disappointed. I wanted to love it. Now I just want a better reboot.

I think it has something to build upon and honestly if they fix what they need to fix I think the sequels are going to be fantastic.

Would love to see a sequel with Kuai Liang as the main focus of the story instead of Cole. Idk why the director or WB thought it was a good idea to introduce a new character. It's a fun flick though.

It is so the audience can see themselves reflected in an unknown character I believe.

Right? Somebody was talking about the dragon emblem appearing being stupid and I was thinking "Have you played Mortal Kombat? Theres like nothing in 12 games that isnt stupid."

Just came from the theatre and feel the same way (also about the theme song lol).

The original had better casting and some semblance of a story. It was cheesy but at least charming. This new one was void of any of that.

Also why did Outworld look like some deserted place in Colorado lmao

I thought I was going to hate Cole but I actually didn't mind him at all. I hope they do a sequel but if they do, they need to bring back Scorpion. Scorpion was fucking awesome

I really liked it, but the acting was maybe one rung above porn quality. It didn’t matter, much like Godzilla a few weeks ago, the appeal had nothing to do with human motivation or emotions. The fight scenes were fun and it was full of fan service, glad I watched it, but I wouldn’t have spent money specifically to see it in a theatre.

Giving it a C. Watchable but lazy. Original is still better and giving that a B+ - how a “stupid” movie should be made.

That was a fun movie. They better make a sequel just for the Johnny Cage tease at the end. My daughters 13 and she thought it was cool.
