Bad news
Forgot some meat at work, 2 rib eyes and a chuck eye steak. I bought them at lunch time and immediately put them in the fridge.
Was leaving work and had to do something, grabbed the meat out of the work fridge and left it on the counter. FUCK
Now, i am pret-tee hell bent on eating this meat. Im gonna guess that its around 50-60 degrees at the job site. Sbould drop to 50 overnight and stay there until tomorrow. Ill be there at 9 am tomorrow. The meat was in the fridge and i can personally confirm it was cold when i left it.
STRATEGY:
-I'm gonna show up at 9 am with a large sack of ice. Im gonna try to flash freeze the meat to preserve it as best i could.
-at the end of work i will immediately take the meat home and slow cook it in a pot for 12-24 hours, to best stop all the bad meat germs. Then, unless someone convinces me otherwise, i will eat the meat.
Will slow cooking kill more of the bad meat? I assume so, versus simply searing it. I dont think anything can survive a pot of boiling water for 24 hours. Im sure back in the olden days not all the meat was good. They probably ate bad meat once in a while. Mayne every day. Im sure some how this has been passed down to me. They Didnt die or we wouldnt have made it as a species. I'm sure those people in war zones don't get to eat fresh meat every damn day. They survive. Fuck it. Im not wasting the meat
