Montano DecLa Rosa calls for higher pay

She’s lucky to even have a contract considering she lost TUF, which was supposed to be itself the entrance into the UFC.

I get Forrest and Bonnar both getting contracts, but the idea that practically everybody in TUF gets a UFC fight is ridiculous and defeats the whole concept of it.

That’s not a lot of money! It’s a pathetically small amount of money for a professional athlete to make.

I wish UFC fighters made more but for the vast majority it’s a part time job and passion.

Fighting in the UFC doesn’t mean you’ve made it in life.

Everything is relative. 50k for what basically amounts to a few weeks of work is more than alot of people make in a year.

And let's be real here, she has no bargaining power. She's a female fighter barely in the top 10 of a shallow division in a fringe sport.

I was only talking about the WMMA divisions. I think they deserve $40 a fight and an extra $40 if they win. Seems fair to me it’s not like you have to even train to be good.

1. Do you buy PPVs
2. Would you buy a PPV with only WMMA fighters on the main card?

With some clever matchmaking the UFC can get plenty of mileage out of De La Rosa - a married couple in the UFC, the human interest backstory of being pregnant at 15 and then rejecting a college wrestling scholarship to look after the kid, btw her daughter is a top wrestler in her age group in Texas.

Dana isn't going to complain about someone who wants to take fights and fulfill her contract obligations. He already likes her for the gameness she showed when she lost to Nicco on Tuf.

Would anyone care if she were cut?

If yes, get raise
If no, fuck off

Did De La Rosa call for better pay though? I thought she just wanted to fulfill her Tuf contract as quickly as possible, so that she could negotiate a new deal. I'm not sure how the tuf contract differs from a normal run of the mill first contract anyway, it starts at 10k rather than 12k I guess and maybe lasts longer?

Anyway her comments did her no harm as she got the bonus after she made them. Also Dana seems to want to match her up with VanZant.
Yes this is how I remember it too -- she said she wants to see out her TUF contract so she can get a new one with higher pay and there's nothing wrong with that. I think she has 2 fights left on her TUF contract. Obviously that's some kind of generic contract they prob give to ALL TUF fighters regardless of who they are.

She is doing well, and she'll be fine. Dana likes her, I remember watching that season of TUF and it's obvious Dana liked her then and likes her now, and if Dana likes you, then you are FINE. She'll get a whole new contract after this one expires and a better deal than 14/14k.

"She got a 50k bonus what more does she want"

And if she doesn't get one of the 2 or 3 bonus' up for grabs she makes what 14k/14k? Without the bonus, after taxes she's lucky to leave with 15k. It's wild how many people on here support fighters getting paid trash wages like this.

Pretty sure half the people here don’t even know who I’m talking about.

Probably not since her name is MontanA De La Rosa. Calling her MontanO makes people think of Nico Montano.

She could easily start grabbing some of that Instagram dough.

Yeah but she has a daughter and talks about it way too much lol and now she has a husband.

PVZ is still marketable but it took a boob job to gain more interest after she got married...

if the numbers are correct
14k show / 14k win 3.5k Reebok

her next fight should look like

20k show / 20k win 5k Reebok

or something similar. After that with only 1 fight left, I think thats where they normally renegotiate on a new contract
with a loss she losses some power, but the 3 finishers look good. If she wins, she definately has bargaining power

if they can't come to an agreement, she does her last fight and could leave if Bellator offers something nice, which they could

I'm guessing she made $14k/$14k for this fight. She was $10k/$10k 2 fights ago and $12k/$12k last fight. Roxanne made $25k/$25k on the same card as her before.
