Multiplat Monster Hunter World

Just be really great at hammer! Honestly weapon familiarity is king!

One thing I'd like to add, especially for Hammer users, is to keep an upgraded back up for farming purposes. Hammer can break all of the monster parts, but you need something with slash damage to cut tails.

Also, what's everyone using? Currently using an insect glaive and a longsword. Anyone using any of the ranged weapons?
I'm currently using at least 4 bow long sword the horn and hammer. if i want try new weapon I'll just put on do a random hunt.

I typically don't use Expeditions for hunting monsters for their materials because you'll miss out on a lot of mission rewards. Also in Expeditions, if you take to long to kill the monster they'll respawn at full health. I typically use expeditions for gathering materials like mining ore and bugs.

As for hunting monster over and over for materials it's better to farm them using Optional quests. Once you complete the Assigned quest their attached to, an Optional quest for the hunt will become available that you can repeat as many times as you want and will yield much better rewards and their always in the same spot so you get really efficient tracking them.

As for crafting/gathering tips, always keep your eye out for Flashbugs to create Flashpods(it's like a flash bang to blind enemies), Bitterbugs for making a Catalyst(main component for a TON of stuff), and Thunderbugs to make Shocktraps.

Also grab any Armor Seeds and Might Seeds for making Demon Drugs and Armor Skins. These potions increase your Attack and Defense during missions.

Never pass up on Honey. You can use these to turn your Potions into Mega Potions and you Nutrients into Mega Nutrients.

Another handy thing they added for this game is the ability to Auto Craft as you gather items. When you open your crafting menu, there is a check box next to the item. If you set it to Auto Craft as soon as you pick up a resource it will craft the item as long as you have the space. So if you have a Potion set up with Auto Craft, as soon as you pick up an Herb it will auto convert it into a Potion. Really handy ability that frees you from slogging through and manually crafting stuff you use frequently.

Do you just go to the hunt board after the first quest and find them under optional? No extra steps like with investigations?

And thanks for the tips!

High rank now, is it worth playing? Tried the pukei but I’m drained from playing for 4 hours already today, even dreamed about the game last night

I made a few highly upgraded weapons not paying attention to how much they cost
Side quests and using vouchers can double your cash haul.

I upgrade all the time and have over 150k.

Yup, either the hunt board or your handler.

In the previous games, they really "started" at G rank. Beating High Rank will end the story, but G Rank will open up and make the High Rank weapons/armor sets look like toys.

But if High Rank is essentially the G Rank of this game, then it is all relative no?

Just did a quick check, and currently G-Rank isn't in the game, but it could be an add on content but the developers are undecided at this point. I would be really surprised if we didn't get it some time down the road.

At work so I can't really watch the video. Will watch when I get home, but they seem to talk about the possibility of G-Rank

Guys I finally got this game ! Hopefully I don’t suck. Let’s team up on PS4 later.

Beat the HR Pukei. Got slept twice, once by a Rathian and once by Betelgeuse. They seem to love to gank in HR.

End game?

so i'm at the Nergigante assignment, i'm just wondering if this this is near the end or is there still a lot of content? Not wanting to google it as i don't want to ruin the surprise of more badass monsters

I would say that's the start of the end game.

Spoiled some of the late game shit and hoo boy I need better gear and to go back and fight Diablos and Rathalos again. Diablos charge blade is apparently very good.

Alright have high rank bone armor and the Diablos charge blade. Tracking the damn Rathian now

Anyone got some input as to what skills i should be looking for as a hammer user?

Weakness Exploit
Slugger
Focus?
