Multiplat Monster Hunter World

Ok I died trying to hunt that puki puki thing! I keep getting poisoned and while I’m trying to take antidote he wipes me out. Any tips would be great.
Also do the giant jargas keep roaming around ?

I’ve been collecting everything, no clue really what to do with all these items . I just know you can store stuff and make potions . Do I just keep it all or sell anything . What should I keep on me.

Pretty much everything is used to craft, so it would be in your best interest to keep everything. Monster materials are used for making their armor sets and weapons, so if your strapped for cash and are done farming a monster, take out another hunt for it and sell all of the mission reward materials. Money is pretty easy to get, and I've yet to resort to selling anything for extra cash. I went pretty broke going into High Rank spending 60,000z buying up an Attack and Armor medal. It was a one time purchase to boost attack and defense so I didn't bat an eye at the purchase and already back up to like 50,000z.

The best way to know what you can craft is really just going into the crafting menu and looking at whats in there. An item that hasn't been crafted shows up as "????", but it lists it's ingredients. Once you craft it, it will unlock and give you a discription.

Some things to keep an eye out for are Honey for Mega Potions/Nutrients, Flash Bugs to make Flashpods(essentially flash grenades), Might/Armor Seeds for Demon Drugs and Armor Potions, Bitterbugs for making Catalysts(needed to craft a bunch of other stuff), Dung for making Dungpods(shoot invading monsters to make them run off), Thunderbugs and Ivy for making Shock and Pitfall traps.

There are a whole slew of restorative items, so really just dive into crafting and see what you think would be usefull.

Really the best way to avoid the Pukei poison, is learn what his poison attack animation looks like, and get into position to punish once he commits. Pattern recognition and positioning are key in this game.

Thanks Dinkin you’re awesome .

Do I buy weapons or just stick with the item box ones . I’m still really trying to figure out a weapon for me. I’ve tried a few and only the hammer type axe I was bashing and dodging. The big sword was killing me because it would stick in the ground on big strikes. Also for charging weapons is a bit confusing . Do you hold down r2 to charge and let go or do you have to hold r2 and press an attack button.

You can only buy the base level iron and bone weapons from the vendor, everything is meant to be upgraded by using materials from monsters killed.

I can only reference the hammer because it's the only charge weapon i've used holding r2 and releasing will do a certain attack, holding r2 then pressing triangle will do another attack. Every weapon is different though. I'm sure you can access the weapons tutorial from your room.

Ok captured the anjanath, did it responding to someone’s SOS. Came correct, 10 mega potions, 10 potions, 10 herbs, shock traps, health booster, and my HR alpha bone suit upgraded to level 3. The fire blast isn’t a one shot anymore

As Flicka said, watch out for his poison animations. If you do get poisoned. Sprint away from him, your Palico more often than not will get aggro if you stop attacking. Try to get a decent bit away and pop the potion. You can walk while you're using it, just not run. Also a suggestion, instead of using Antidotes, there's an item you can craft that's a lot faster activation rate and cures you of poision, it's called Herbal Medicine. Just look at your crafting list, see what you need to make the medicine, then work your way back ingredient wise. Everything you need is easily obtainable in the Ancient Forest.

Whenever I did get poisoned I used that, a lot faster.

The tutorials in the training area really don't properly explain weapons. For instance I use the insect glaive, and it never explained the mechanics for using the weapon at it's best. What kind of weapon do you prefer? Something really powerful with really slow animations? Good defense with a bit of offense? High mobility and the ability the mount monsters? Long reach and high mobility? It's probably best to try all of them in the training ground (just go to the chest when you're there and change weapons) and look up a video on the ones you're really interested in to get a full grasp of them.

With the Great Sword, a dodge will cancele the recovery animation. So after you attack, just roll and sheath your weapon so you're not a turtle on the battle field. It takes a bit to get used to, but the spike damage is crazy.

Thinking of trying a new weapon, the hammer is great but it's really slow. I'm getting caught when winding up attacks a lot now and since it's late game the margins for error are a lot smaller. Trying to hit flying enemies can be a real chore if i've ran out of flashpods as well.

I switched from the katana to the insect glaive to better combat aerial threats. Give it a try.

How is the glaive in general? I only used it in the tutorial in the beta.

I think i'll mess around with the charge blade and the glaive also one of the ranged weapons as i haven't used them at all.

About 80 hours in. Love this game. So much to grind for and still 100's of hours left of content.

Really recommend changing weapons up. Each one really changes you're overall gameplay and often gives you more perspective on a monster's move set as you adjust.

Really loving the charge blade. About to sit down for a long Nergigante grind to try and get his armor set and some new weapons. Figured I might give the bow a try for a bit.

Just now discovered the elder melder and that you can sell shit to that dude at home base. Got 50k zenny quickly by selling unwanted monster materils

Beat Diablos last night. I'm like 42 hours in. Time to take on Zorah, who I hear is easy. Then High Rank where a whole other can of worms will open up.

Check his inventory too. He has 2 items called something like Attack Medal and Armor Medal. They are one time purchase items and as long as they are in your inventory they give you a boost to Attack and Defense. It's not a crazy boost, but every little bit helps. They're pricy though, the combo will run you 60,000z.

Trying out the bow now it's a lot of fun, seems like a lot of the same mechanics as the bow in Dragons Dogma which is a good thing. I like how you can't just snipe you have to get in amongst the action.

Cash in any vouchers you to boost your quest rewards for the fight. I made it into HR after the Zorah event, and when I looked at the smithy I was 1 Fragment short of a few upgrades. Zorah eventually shows up in the Optional Quests, but it's random and he's only there for 2 quest cycles. So if you don't take advantage when he shows up you'll miss the opportunity.

Thanks man, will do.

Can anyone tell me how to organize some preloaded armor sets?

I stumbled upon this once, where there was an option to load/set up to five various armor sets so that you could switch quickly between them at the item box. For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to access that again. Is it with the housekeeper? The smithy? Just your item box?

You can also upgrade them using Bazlegeuse (sp?) talons to go from a 5% upgrade, to a 10% upgrade. You can then buy another set of the same charms for a 15% upgrade (you can upgrade that second set as well, but can't equip two upgraded ones at the same time). Just found this out. So Bazel just got the number 1 spot on my shit list.
