Just wondering what HBG to go for. I'm fond of applying Sleep and Paralysis effects, but also like recoilless pierce rounds.

I have the subspecies of Vaal Hazak next. If it's anything like arch-tempered Vaal (with its AOE that works directly against how I play), I may have a bit of difficulty with it...

If pierce is good the upgrade legiana one. Great Jagras for spread 2 zinogre for spread 3 and final boss HBG for cluster and sticky

Not much changed for the bows. Glavenus is now the best fire bow but updated Tobi is the best thunder, Coral Pukei is the best water and Val is the best dragon.

an early lbg that’s good is the Nargacuga one, rapid fire Pierce seems pretty good

I've been using Legiana HBG with a shield as of late, but I have Nightveil Gunlance II in my inventory, as well as Empress "Blaze".

I do like a good Gunlance..

I was never into HBGs. That is, until I got the Glutton HBG from Kulve Taroth. Holy shit that thing was monstrous.

Did Iceborne do any balancing with HBG?

I wouldn't really know about balancing, aside from the upgrades on HBGs make them easier to mess around with.

Franz Glacia and Urugaan Beta+ is going to be my end-game HBG and armor set, I think. It's large pierce clips and lack of recoil make it very easy to use at long range.

I tend to play tit-for-tat, so whilst I'm moving around, I'd rather guard than evade. I mainly play HBG in multiplayer and Gunlance in single.

It has a wicked design and the fight seems very enjoyable so far.

Unfortunately, I may have to adjust my playstyle. It's a cakewalk in the first half, but I keep getting trapped by its sonic boom in the second, which shreds my guard and one hit KO's me. I've avoided it a few times with rolls, but the margin for error is so small and if tripped before, I've been done for.

Possibly a LBG, Hammer or Sword & Shield?

I beat it first try with charge blade. Bring farcasters to restock heals or get yourself out of trouble in a pinch. Also tremor resist may be helpful if you’re getting tripped up by shenanigans. This monster has some of the best weapons in the game so get used to fighting it.

I've mixed my Urugaan and Bezel sets to give myself Guard 5, Guard Up, Health Boost 3, Guts and Speed Eating, though other players are having a hard time with it as well (I haven't tried it solo yet).

It's a fun fight, but that sonic blast is nasty...

Apparently wide is dogshit in IB and the best gunlance is the fully upgraded Val hazak one. Charged shelling is so fast now and does so much damage it’s crazy.

It’s such a slog solo but everyone triple carts when I try farming it so I just gave up. Still want the switch axe and long sword from this monster tho.

Yeah, I got through it this morning, but felyne'd insurance and moxie. I dropped once and two others dropped once, but we got there in the end.

Fully upgraded Urugaan and Bezel armour definitely helped, as it gave me Guard Up and Guts too.

Had a brief rummage in Guided Lands, which seems a bit odd to me. I killed a monster or two, but others don't seem to be able to get into the swing of things...

Guiding lands is ass and the best melee weapon’s and some of the best gear are gated by it, as well as all the augmenting material

They nerfed how many bomberries you can carry for cluster bombing and also nerfed their detonation requirements. Pierce got buffed, normal 3 is pretty good and they made Zinogres HBG a better version of the glutton with same clip size and a fucking 3 clip of Wyvern ammo

Yeah you can slap 3 shield mods on it and still do insane damage. It’s the most broken weapon yet in the game.
