I absolutely goddamn detest master rank Lunastra.

If I fight with a shield, I get murked by the supernova heat.

If I don't? I'm nipped to death by her constant attacks.

There is no way to fully block the supernova, just slow it, and the fireproof mantle is only available during parts of the fight.

She is an absolute cunt.

Secret to dealing with her is bringing wind resist. Stops the inability to heal during the nova. Or you can just superman dive it. I also hate her and thankfully none of her gear is good so you dont have to fight her much.

Yeah, so I have to farm master rank Kush in order to maybe beat her, and I find fighting Kush to be quite boring.

The problem with Luna is that I usually fight behind a shield, and I cannot unsheathe fast enough after the first Nova blast, so I die of heat.

I had the most success with LBG Ghost, escaped series of Novas with range, potions and the last one with a farcaster, then got charged, then swiped and flamed IMMEDIATELY after getting up. Last two I had no chance of dodging.

Got nothing after 30+ minute fights too.

Horrid.

Use a sticky LBG like Rajang or Deviljho, you can chain KOs and out space the nova. Or use gunlance

I may also invest in Rathalos Soul B for Windproof. I'll also need to shove Health Boost 3 and Earplugs 5 on it.

If you really wanna be cheesy run tool specialist 3 and just farcaster once your mantles are gone and wait till they're available again. I did this with arch tempered Nergigante. However you'll need to deal some serious damage to make up for the down time. I used a cluster gun.

Oddly enough, I tend to do just fine against Nergigante. My playstyle is pretty much tit-for-tat with a shield, although I bring plenty of healing items.

AOE attacks murk me however.

My current tactic has been to jump into multiplayer, use a LBG and pick my spots very carefully. I'm not the only one who struggles with Luna, however.

I’m trying to get back into MHW and grind out the main story so I can start iceborne. Currently I’m hunting the nergigante but I ran into the uragaan while on the expedition and I’m struggling to kill him solo lol

His rolls kill me so often he just keeps bouncing off walls and rolling into me and I can only dodge so many.

I should probably bite the bullet and pop off an SOS

I’ve only played with a random once but he did come in and carry me and a friend easily lol I’m just used to toxic players online so I try to avoid online.. Yeah, I went through the first few ranks of the game alone and then caved in and bought live.

I just prefer co-op gaming. It just adds something to it.

I have 300 hours into the game and I've only come across one toxic player, which is pretty impressive.
