Monster Hunter...Enlighten Me

Been using the Switch Axe again, forgot how much I loved this thing.

Created a fully upgraded Diablos and I'll start farming Jho for his.
 
Waiting, and hoping, for this to come on steam summer sale. I can’t bring myself to pay full price for it again since I had it on Xbox already.

Not looking forward to catching up to where I was either, but these crossover events I’ve been seeing look really fun and I would like to get to end game before that huge expansion comes out.

Can’t wait!

I mean it's like $30 at most so technically half of full price.
 
Had a damn good night of hunting. A storm from hell knocked out the power at our place and wifi where we're staying. I decided to take on the Tempered Kirin quest that I just unlocked since I couldn't grind decorations in multiplayer. The bastard failed me the first time when I forgot my mantles and nearly had me the second time but I pulled it off.

Did some decoration hunting on my own after that and got a Guard Up which is Uragaan's set bonus and Elementless which means I can use Diablos weapons to their full ability. Also got the decorations I needed to complete my prehunt Mushroomancer and gatherer sets. Mushroomancer has maxed out Wide Range, Item Prolonger, Speed Eating, and Free Meal. The gatherer set has full Botany, Geologist, Entomologist, Honey Gatherer, Detector, Foragers Luck, Iron Carver, and level two Intimidator.

I'm starting to see how people sink so much time in to this game, in your grind to build the best set for your main weapon you end up finding things for other weapons and it gets you to branch out. Every time I see the horizon the grind gets bigger than it was before. But in a good way, I feel rewarded for it and there's always some progress being made.

Lunastras are also top tier. High white sharpness and decent affinity plus blast damage

Indeed. I ended up learning every weapon Just from getting good decos for them. Even hunting horn.

I just unlocked that fight. Pretty intense since it's in the arena, haven't been able to get him yet so I can't see any of his gear.

I also can't get any of Jho's fucking saliva! I have mats for the weapon and upgrade but zero spit.

Last expedition was mad. Went looking for unusual Rathian footprints in Wildspire and hunted a lost Pukei-Pukei but before i left i thought i'd have a crack at Diablos again. During our fight i saw a shadow with wings closing in on us thinking a Rathian was approaching but instead a massive Bazelgeuse swooped down and pwn'd the Diablos. Never seen one before so had no idea what to expect at first. Found my rhythm after a few cartings and had him on the ropes before he tapped to strikes and flew away.

Disappointed that i didn't get the kill but was an all round thrilling expedition. Onward to high rank.

Lunastra is a chick, Teostras main squeeze. They even have sex during the mission where you fight them both. Well, sex in that they “bond” rather than have a turf war and both of their novas go off almost simultaneously.

I think I have a pretty nice little set going for the Charge Blade. Was a good excuse to use my Elementless and Artillery decorations. So it ends up with Protective Polish, Elementless, Artillery III, Capacity Boost, Speed Sharpener III, and some extra attack/affinity.

I can basically sharpen in one stroke for a full minute of blue sharpness attacks which is pretty awesome considering how fast Charge Blade blows through sharpness. I still get maximum explosiveness and attack over 900 so I'm doing huge damage pretty much constantly.

The set will be insane if I can get a Protective Polish decoration. That opens up four armor slots which would make it my best build by far. A Teostra gem frees up a decoration slot too which would be nice.

Try fitting focus 3 into the build. I don’t have charger gems so I use Damascus chest and coil. They also have good slots. With focus 3 your phials charge much faster and you can spam SAEDs more
 
Massively pissed off with Behemoth.

One thing that cannot be blocked is Ecliptic Meteor. Fair enough.

The bullshit is this horn stab thing it does at the end, boring, one hit kills and completely unblockable.

The bull rush attack? Are you using a shield gem or have any guard gems equipped? Also are you using health boost3?

I burnt out 45 hours in, when they started recycling monster models with "pink" versions and "blue" versions that took the coolness away from fighting new monsters.

Fuck man, I have a fully levelled Urugaan set and Ironside charm 3. It gives me Guard Up max and Guard max.

Even after canteen, it one-hit KO’s me.

Health boost 3 gives you more than enough health to survive anything. Also save your temporal mantle for that phase. Guard up is a one level skill that makes unblockable attacks blockable. That attack may just be one that has to be evaded
