Are those special crossover events a limited time thing? Or will I be able to do them when I pick the game up here in a week?

Behemoth and Leshen are permanent but their more difficult variants are limited time events
 
Downed Tigrex with 20 seconds left lol. Carted me once but he's an awesome little mid-tier monster. Really like his design. Haven't played a MH before so he's new to me.

The Banbaro is pretty cool. When he gets a tree in his horns he wrecks but outside of that he was super easy to control. Has a ton of weak points so pretty much anywhere my switch axe hit I was doing hefty damage.

Had another surprise which I won't spoil.

Bummer I can't play more than a few hours for this demo but I'll definitely jump back in next week when it launches for everyone.

Either they’ve coded for shit or the charge blade has been nerfed into mediocrity.

You lose phials if you get hit during an SAED now

SAED axe hits have been nerfed by 20%

Sword slash is slower

Animation to fill phials is slower
 
I’ve been playing the Jurassic world game, on sale for pc for about 14$

I only have a few hours in so far but my park is coming along nicely, I highly recommend it if you ever played the zoo tycoon ( especially dinosaur digs expansion ) and I grew up a big JP fan.

Great graphics and not too hard, I only have a handful of the Dino’s unlocked but it looks like there is plenty to unlock.

I fucking HATED Tigrex in MHFU. It's charge was downright unavoidable unless you had a shield. It was the reason why I now use Lance and gunlance.

Not sure how he compares now but when he rages he does about 3-4 charges and finishes with a spin.

Not hard to avoid but makes it impossible to get hits in.
 
Just took down Tigrex with the charge blade. 15 mins. Carted twice.
 
I finally got some time to play the beta, used the handy dandy Insect Glaive. Haven't figured out the double buff yet but the new R2 aerial smash is awesome, brings so much momentum which really compliments the weapon's fluidity.

The decoration slots on the mantles are a better addition than I realized. Some jewels are so specialized that they aren't worth taking but they fit perfectly on a mantle. So they've killed two birds with one stone.
 
Killed the Tigrex on my first try but carted twice and cut it close with a little over a minute left. Damn fun fight. He's so aggressive I feel like I'm the one being hunted. It's like a better version of the Diablos. Being charged by the Diablos is a pain in the ass but feels like a rewarding risk with the Tigrex.
 
I've played each beta mission only once at the moment but I've liked it enough to know that I'm still not done with this game. That new Hunting Horn is pretty strong. I look forward to being able to make a load more of those.

Seems like they've pretty much eliminated the tracking and finding part. Not quite sure how I feel about that. Sometimes that stuff can be a drag and sometimes it feels like a necessary part of the game because it can make a hunt feel more epic. I sometimes wish there was more to that stuff and that tracking took some actual skill. Now they've gone even further the other way but the pace is probably a lot higher. Maybe the cold weather effects balance it all out.

I was going to wait on picking up the DLC while I finally get through my backlog this year but I can see myself picking up this and Doom before the year is out, especially if it's true that IceBorne rivals the size of the base game.

With 20 minute hunts I think they streamlined tracking for the beta, my bet is it returns to normal for the full release. They just want us to dive in to the action and check out the new stuff.

It's definitely possible but I feel like those summoned mounts pretty much do all the work outside of fighting for you. But then I guess it's pretty likely that the cooldown for that 'call mount' ability is way quicker in the beta than it will be in the game. That would probably balance it out a bit.

Kind of a shame you can't actually control those things unless that's somewhere in the full version, but I suppose there has to be a downside to using them as well otherwise you'd never run around the levels on foot.
 
Nargacuga has been added to the beta. He spawns in the ancient forest during the jagras quest.
 
Killed Nargacuga. Apparently his spawn is rng and the quest description changes when he’s gonna be there
