OK so let's have a discussion once again about Dana's obvious hypocrisy. Let's take a look back to 2010 when Paul Daley took a cheap shot at Koschek.

So Paul Daley takes a swing at Koschek after the fight is over and Dana flips his lid and banishes him forever. He was in a full lather when he talked about Daley and has since stayed salty. What Daley did was despicable and I think most of us can agree even though I liked it cuz Koschek is an asshole who has faked being kneed in the head and poked in the eye during his own fights.

With that being said Conor shows up to New York, single handedly erases 2 fights from a card that is just a mere 2 days away and puts a whole card in jeopardy. People have bought tickets, flown in from around the world to see this event and spent thousands of dollars of their hard earned money. Conor is so selfish that he gave zero fucks about the consequences and instead had to show everyone how much of a childish shithead he really is.

Dana has since said he and Conor are on great terms and have been in communication and there's "mutual respect" between them:

Obviously Dana didn't like Daley. Daley is also not near the draw that Conor is and we are talking about a business. But for Dana to take such a self righteous stance on how wrong Daley was for his actions he has not dropped the hammer in anywhere near the same manner on McGregor. Money is the ultimate factor at work here, and Conors actions are far more despicable then Daley's ever were but yet Conor hasn't been fired.

I believe that AC will suspend Conor for the minimum of 2 years if not longer for conduct detrimental to other fighters who weren't even involved in his dispute with Khabib. I'm wondering if the UFC will also sue Conor for his actions and possible damage to the UFC brand or let him slide because he's their cash cow.

Do you believe that conor's actions are worse then Daleys and he should be permanently fired?

The whole point of all of this, especially from Dana's perspective, is to make money.

Didn't read your post btw, hopefully you didn't say anything profound.

Conor's actions are worse

Neither should be banned

Life isn't fair

Yes, money is the significant difference. It's poor business to end their partnership with Conor.

The other difference is Paul Daley's crime was committed in the ring, on tv, while on the job. That's Dana domain. Daley disrespected the UFC and sport, so they told him to fuck off.

Conor's crime was committed in New York and their police is punishing him.

This comment is strange

I may be naive, but I don't think they have that kind of power. I can't recall a AC getting involved in the punishment of a criminal.

If he fires Daley for this, he should fire Conor easily. But in the UFC World Conor makes a lot of money, so he has to keep him. Is it fair, no: "But it is what it is" @kenny Florian

If Daley was rich and brought in money to the UFC...He would be in the UFC.

I could be completely off on that idk. Apologies if I am.

Conor's crime though was also very closely related to MMA, it took place at a UFC event and hurt UFC fighters,

The reality for me is that the UFC has always been more willing to punish less important fighters in order to look tough on these issues, honestly the USADA looks pretty dodgy as well on this issue with the way its treated Jones relative to less important guys like Barnett, Machida and Crocop.

Also we're talking about ethics and integrity. This is a bad look for the UFC's brand but drama sells fights and he puts asses in the seats. I'm ok with the antics until it's damaging to other fighters and their livelihood. THis is completely unacceptable

I can't think of many other fighters that would get away with this.

UFC would have taken a "moral stance" if this was JT Money

How does this only have 1 like ?

What’s done is done — money was lost because of it(ppv buys)

Why not make the best of the situation moving forward?

You can 'almost' excuse Daley as it was a heat of the moment sort of thing after a frustrating loss and it was Kos, I'd assume that even his own Mom wants to punch him in the face too, sometimes.

Conor flew from Dublin to do something so it's premeditated although I don't think he planned to do what he actually did or to injure anyone so it seems to have for a bit out of hand.

Getting rid of Daley wasn't something I had a problem with but the Conor cash cow is never getting fired over this, he's worth far too much money to the UFC. The UFC will make more money from one Conor fight than they would from the rest of Daleys career.

So i guess they should treat them the same and Conor should be fired too but we all know he won't be.

So in your opinion should Conor be punished or just allowed to be a maniac and continue fighting with no repercussions because he is their best draw? This is bigger then Conor and sets a precedent moving forward. What's good for one fighter isn't for another who isn't able to put the capital in the UFC's pocket by the truckload. As a business the UFC can do whatever they want, does that make it right?

That's a great point. I was contemplating putting that in the OP but shertards for the most part have ADHD and can't stay focused past 5 lines of text anyways. This being premediated makes it that much worse imo.

Conor should be punished and will be —but not the fans

He will be punished by the ufc and by spending tons in attorneys fees and settlements

By the end of the day he will pay probably way more than he should for what he did ( us legal system)

But life goes on and we need to give the people what they want

Khabib v mcgregor

And yes — life isn’t fair — any fighter with no star power or ability to draw money would of been cut

But that’s just how the world functions
