Money is the driving force and Danas hypocricy knows no bounds another Conor thread

Are Conors actions worse then Daleys

So in your opinion should Conor be punished or just allowed to be a maniac and continue fighting with no repercussions because he is their best draw? This is bigger then Conor and sets a precedent moving forward. What's good for one fighter isn't for another who isn't able to put the capital in the UFC's pocket by the truckload. As a business the UFC can do whatever they want, does that make it right?

Honestly, what's a realistic punishment?

They fire him and he goes makes 10 million instead of 15 with Bellator, and UFC loses that business, because it's right?

Suspend him for another 10 months? I can't think of anything.

I don't think this situation happens if Conor isn't aware of his position/power.

Conor should be punished and will be —but not the fans

... we need to give the people what they want

Khabib v mcgregor

Hard to argue this.

Everything going on nice... <JRSmith40>

I don't think his actions were worse than Daley's. Realistically, people would have booked tickets etc. based on the strength of Khabib - Ferguson and Rose - Joanna. Don't get me wrong, Conor deserves to be punished, but if Daley hadn't been fired, you're essentially allowing illegal fights after the bell, in full view of a watching, paying audience. Conor, although causing injury to other fighters, did it outside of the cage.

I actually think what he did at the Bellator show was worse, he should have been banned for a long time for that. If a fan, which is what he was that night, jumped in the ring and assaulted the ref, they'd be handed at the very least a lifetime arena ban, and possibly a custodial sentance.

Like TS said though, money is the key to all this. He'll most likely get a slap on the wrist, although Dana can't protect him from several lawsuits.

Again I don't disagree still doesnt' make it right. I look a bit further into this then most as well. I wouldn't be sad to see him go because number one he doesn't and hasn't ever defended a belt and number 2 he thinks he's bigger then the sport itself. Most of my displeasure though is simply the fact that he doesn't defend belts and holds up divisions though. That's fucked for other fighters.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic to defend McGregor. I'm all for the UFC imposing some sort of punishment, but I can't think of what it could be.

Nah I totally get what you're sayin and I agree. Personally if I was in charge of the UFC as an organization my inner demons would probably side with letting him return because of the capital he can put in the bank. I mean if you take ethics out of the equation it's a no brainer

Theoretically, the UFC could suspend him indefinitely, as per their 'code of conduct'...the way they did with Jones after his hit and run.

Conor could hack Dana's emails, end his COD kill-streak or open his mail and Dana still wouldn't fire Conor.

Yeah, true, but we know that would be a reason to justify Conor sitting out until he's willing.

Ya duhhhh. Why do you think Dana is promoting fights? For the glory of entertaining a bunch of bros on a saturday night?

Money rules the world, aint no secrets there.

Of course. Though, to be fair, I'm fine with the Conor show being canceled altogether.

The more I think about, I think that's a good look for the UFC, to suspend him indefinitely. It does nothing, but it's a public stance.

The headache discussions it will inspire here will be brutal.

If a low tier fighter had done what Conor did, Dana would be leading the charge to get that person the maximum sentence. When it comes to money, Dana has no morals. We saw it with Rampage and Bones. It shouldn't be a surprise.

It's not a surprise at all, just wanted to open up discussion on it and see where it went

Hitting somebody seconds after a sanctioned mma fight is over < Fly a private plane over the atlantic with a crew and you know what.

Conor could fuck Dana's mom and still not get fired.

In an ideal world he'd be fired. In a reasonable one he'd be suspended by the UFC for 12-18 months.
