this is a study of the % of sex offenders in america by each race, and across the entire country, whites are 72%, blacks are 26%, and then everyone else is like whatever. So whites do seem to be overrepresented, cause they’re only 52 percent of the population, but blacks are even more overrepresented, cause the increase from 52 to 72 is 38 percent, but from 13 to 26 is obviously 100 percent. Some of the overrepresentation in both groups may be becuase for a LOT of states, they don’t distinguish between Hispanic and non Hispanic status. I was surprised by the low numbers for every other group especially Hispanics who are like 18% of the population, but some of that is probably cause first generation immigrants are less likely to commit crime and 1/3rd of hispanic Americans are immigrants, and the fact a lot of states don’t actually bother to record Hispanic or non Hispanic like I said, but anyway that’s only partially relevant to your claim
the study also found that in Minnesota and Oregon, which only require level 3 or above offenders to be registered, basically the most dangerous offenders, black RSO’s were 10 (minnesota) and 7 (Oregon) times more likely to be on the registry
and if you want to say well, whites are still the majority of offenders (with caveats), remember you claimed per capita, not in raw numbers
