MMA overtaken Boxing 100%

Wilder & Fury dwarfs Khabib & Ferguson.
Not really.....It's a bigger fight yeah but Tony vs Khabib is humongous.

In usa alone i bet it's closer than you think honestly. Ufc ppv model is kinda fucked though so that's not helping

Lol Canelo made more money than all your dry humping in a cage participants.

I never gave a fuck about boxing and Conor vs Mayweather is the only boxing match I've ever seen. That being said, it's hard to ignore how much money is going into boxing, and that's a pretty sure sign that it's doing better than MMA.

Is it really moving that fast, considering the huge gap with top boxers?
Yes it is moving fast. UFC Cards on average are doing better PPV business than boxing cards.

Kids making fun off Khabib vs Ferguson but it would sell more PPV than Canelo vs anyone.

There are more star power on average in the UFC than in boxing EVEN with the lower pay.

Heck Khabib vs Dustin does better ppv buys than Wilder vs Fury 1 which did 300k ppv buys.

I take that back Khabib vs Iaquinta did better than Wilder vs Fury 1 at 350k.

Lol.

It'll be in the next decade or so. MMA grows fast for such a young sport. Don't be swayed by DAZN throwing big money at boxers, they haven't made any profit yet and it's going to take a while and before they do, MMA, or UFC in this matter will grows even bigger be it in terms of popularity in the combat sports circles or in revenue.

but you also fail to realize one thing: the more technical MMA becomes, the less are casual ( MMA is full of casuals) interested.

Bare-Knuckel and Lethwei are the future.

PPV numbers tell us mostly about American ratings, not worldwide ratings. I think that's what makes the difference and why boxing is still able to put that much money on the table.

Anyway MMA fighters pay is constantly going up
Really? How fast? How much growth? What's the difference between owner profit and athlete profit?

Are you also aware that Dana is a massive Trump supporter, and spoke in his favour at the Republican National Conference in the lead up to his election win? . Do you think that could have some impact on whether he attends THE UFC?

MMA is only getting bigger even while its becoming more technical.

Wilder vs Fury 1 300k ppv

Khabib vs Iaquinta 350k ppv

Butb bbbbut Boxing pay though!

Joshua is making a guaranteed $80 million for the fight on Saturday. That covers the entire fighter pay for 10 or 11 full UFC events. Until UFC can pay it's fighters like that then no boxing is the more popular sport. Those are the FACTS

Except MMA doesn't have the same legacy feel as boxing which is rich in history. Dont get me wrong, when I first discovered Pride, UFC ,WCC etc on VHS tapes in 97', I was hooked to every possible fight and it led me straight to training. But getting my boys into it the way they grew up watching Ali, Frazier, Liston, Foreman, Ray, Hagler, Tyson, Duran..they would watch with some interest but it just wont replace that era.

Modern boxing with its ups and downs is still built on that very solid foundational floor of pugilist. SHit like Conor's con game and the BMF belt only undermine the validity of mma as a true sport

Every televised, big franchise sports share the same constant truth, "how do we make more money out of this without sacrificing the integrity of the game?". MMA is constantly evolving, and rules will be changed to make it more exciting to the viewers. It's not in stasis.

I think MMA gets more views world wide not just in the USA. Boxing was never really that big of a sport anywhere in the world other than USA, Ex Soviet Union and some south American countries.

MMA is taking over boxing where its strong and definitely where its weak.

19 milion watched that fight illegaly and it trended muuuch higher than ufc.

fury vs wilder was much bigger than you realize. canelo pulls bigger numbers in the states then any MMA fighter not named Conor.

at least you are a much better troll than me haha.

Is that why every budding star in the UFC calls out a boxer in order to validate their place at the top? Must be why Dana is in the midst of creating zuffa boxing too.. Lol
I'll never understand drawing a line in the sand with combat sports. I love MMA, boxing, kickboxing, BJJ all that shit.

Regardless of how fast MMA is allegedly growing Dana and WME will absolutely never be cutting boxing tier paychecks to their fighters So they'll keep begging got boxing paydays.
