MMA in the Olympics?

Pankration was a form of MMA and it was one of the ancient olympics original sporting contests. MMA is now a global sport, and it has a large following. So, is there a possibility mma could be introduced as an sport in the Olympics once again?

I think it would have to be very stripped down, so damage is not accumulated in the first fights. There would have only been 3-4 fights in the ancient Olympics.

Not any time soon. I'd expect to see BJJ or some kind of submission grappling before MMA.

I don't think most countries have the depth of talent to support a team.

I don't think most countries would want to see it added because it's basically handing multiple gold medals to USA, Russia, and maybe Brazil.

It's also not really a sport you can do in much protective gear. I don't think the Olympics are ready for soccer kicks or slicing elbows.
