I blame gen-x (my generation), we didn't get involved with politics so all there is to choose from are these senile boomers or dumb-as-rocks millennials.

The sweet-spot, age-wise for a politician is between the ages of 45 and 60, but that's gen-X and we don't give a F about politics, and the few that do are all crazy.
