Mistrust of Science - Evolution vs Creationism in the classroom

Science can say nothing about how the universe came into existence because no one was there.

Engineers and scientists working with computers have shown that nothing organizes itself in a functioning way apart from prewritten, inscribed information.

So if we are going with the old intelligent design theory, who created God? Surely he didn't just come about by chance.

In actuality, the intelligent design theory works to hurt your argument just as much as you think it helps it. Given that God has no predecessors, and is too sophisticated to come about by chance, we must conclude that He had a designer, which would be man.

Embodied cognition (psychology): the mind is inherently embodied, thought is mostly unconscious and abstract concepts are largely metaphorical.

Isn't this the default position in Science since we can't observe or measure the immaterial?

How does it work?
General relativity. It's no longer an unknown force acting between two bodies as he recently claimed. Newton was probably the more prolific scientist but Einstein was standing on his shoulders.

Was ancient Egyptian religion created by humans , yes or no?

The answer is yes and no. Humans created the Babylonian religion based on concepts, ideas, and practices given to them by fallen angels. Humans then passed this religion onto Egypt.

Impressive faith you have in those mens theories mate

astronauts are on record saying they've seen seen aliens, the whole Roswell incident press release picked up by over 30 newspapers followed, redacted press conference saying it was a weather ballon. Now we have the technology to read the papers in the second news conference, verifying it happened
they've been spotted on many different countries radar, hell the airport in DC was shut down because of alien traffic for over a week
google codeword santa claus, I could go on for hours with examples

yes I think there is a massive cover up going on about many subjects

I just picked a random video on giants from youtube, its not a christian publication, watch the videos its extremely interesting

Agreed

x is possible" -> "P(x) > 0"
"x is probable" -> "P(x) > 0.5" (because that's when P(x) > P(~x))

In layman's terms:
An event is possible if there's any chance whatsoever that it'll happen, no matter how small.
An event is probable if the likelihood that it will happen is higher than the likelihood that it will not happen

Really, P(x) doesn't even have to be greater than 0 for an event for to be possible. For example, imagine I had an infinite number line and threw a dart at it. What it the probability that my dart landed on the number "3"? Its 0, since there are infinite places it could have landed. Same for every number. Yet, the dart will hit a number nevertheless.

It's more like something created out of nothing is so insurmountable that people create religion. The scientific method comes along and over the course of centuries we have answers close to the explanation of something created out of nothing. Theories like natural selection, relativity, and the standard model are proven correct to a staggering degree of decimal points over the course of scores of years but some people still fall back on the bible because only God can give them comfort.
Catholics don't seem to have much trouble with it. Leave to Ceasar that which is Caesar's and give to God that which is God's. It's a pretty simple precept.

Ah yes, this theme. This is where you guys try to paint a picture of the “religion of science”. Let me save you some time: you’re projecting. I’m quite confident that I’m speaking for everyone in this thread who’s arguing for the science side that they’re ready to change their opinion as soon as new evidence becomes available: if someone is able to offer irrefutable proof that creationism is true and that the theory of evolution is false, we’ll change our minds. Can you honestly say the same for yourself?

But no one actually thinks those theories are correct. Accurate enough isn't the same as true. I'm not advocating we throw our hands up and say "God did it", but I'm also not advocating we start preaching modern physics as dogma.
