Mir beats Overeem in a boring fight..

lol, TS is a troll. dude mentioned the one outcome that is pretty much impossible.

I see it. Neither fighter can afford to lose, neither fighter has a trustworthy chin, Frank is a smarter fighter, and Overeem tends to fade after the opening minutes.

Mir wins a boring decision. Overeem leaves on his own (before the cut) to fight for more money and more glory overseas.

That should be the boilerplate analysis of the scenario. Of course, "anything can happen," and it often does.

I just hope Overeem doesn't come out all conservative with preserving his cardio in mind. He needs to do go for the jugular exactly as he did against Browne.

No, it's gonna end brutally. I'm guessing Mir gets wrecked...... Again.

Reem brutalizes Mir.

To do that, he'd have to uncover his head and move within striking distance. After the last 2 fights, and the rest of his history, do you think he's going to roll the dice? I think a better blueprint for the fight is his latest Werdum encounter.

It's Mir's chin vs Overeem's cardio.

And I think Overeem takes it.

So whats to say its not a similar fight to the "smart" conservative decision he had again werdum?

Pressing him against the cage, not allowing power shots, staying in dominant positions where he can't get seriously damaged, why not?

For 1 being in the clinch is not a favorable position for Mir. For 2 if they go against the fence I'd say Overeem will be the 1 pressing Mir.

Overeem is entirely too big and strong for Mir to try to put on the fence and dirty box. His best chance(and only in my opinion) is to get it to the ground and get a submission.

I got Overeem 1st rd TKO

Mir can beat Overeem, but not in the way TS posted. Its crazy

Overeem lands hard kicks and push kicks to the body. He follows up on one of those kicks by explosively moving Mir to the cage and landing a knee to the body. Mir drops, fight over.

Mir beats overeem in the clinch..I guess Browne is going to pull guard and sub werdum?

Mir's weakness is being pinned up against the cage whereas it is Overeem's strength.

This fight won't even be close unless Mir can figure out a way to get it to the ground so he can set up his BJJ. And even that's not a lock as Reem has pretty nasty GnP. Reem by 1st round KO/TKO.

There is no way that Mir wins this match up. I believe that Overeems ground game is to good for him to be submitted, of course this is HW and it is Alistiar, so there is always that chance of getting hit hard and that could end in a KO or submission, but my money is on Overeem, he is just way too strong and skilled, he will demolish Frank Mir in round 1, in same fashion Barnett destroyed him, or Big Nog when he rocked him standing in the 2nd fight

You may think I'm absolutely crazy but I'm going with Frank Mir by KO/TKO in Round one or two.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I first heard about this fight... Overeem should win, but he shoulda won his last two and got unexpectedly kyfo'd in both... Bad things happen in threes
