Milk as a post workout drink?

You'll think it's overrated until you actually do some hard work and feel like you're going to pass out if you don't eat/drink something very soon.

yeah I've never really did any hard workouts before, so I really don't have any clue about that, you know shriveling up if I don't immediately get my whey protein in before I leave the gym. Ask JPC he'll tell you I've never did any hard work that would require such super immediate nutrition.

fuck- if a man is that damn fragile he should be sucking a dick instead of lifting heavy weights.

Gatorade uses HFCS, which is far from the best kind of sugar anyways, especially when you want the insulin spike (which fructose doesn't cause) to take in the nutrients of your shake.

he might be using whey protein + gatorade powder, which doesn't have HFCS

Yeah, he always did weak lazy workouts, like 50 reps in 20 mintues of big compound exercise with about a 5RM weight. Nothing that would cause any strain or deplete any energy reserves. Jeff I think some here would be interested in your Mantrition posts.

he may be lactose intolerant but if he keeps drinking that soy milk he won't be intolerant to lactating.

heres how I see it. You've got guys, normal guys like me and probably the majority of you here getting sucked into an abyss of worry with this small detail of nutrition. I know that there has been a billion studies that prove this or that, but also remember that these same people come back in several years and disprove what they proved way back whenever.

So like I said- eat whatever your mom, wife has fixed on the table, go workout, and when you are done if you are all shakey and about to pass completely the fuck out have a little bite to eat but don't stress about it. Its not going to make one hill of beans of difference if you eat it or not. What you eat before hand is way more important than after. I will say that eating after won't hurt you at all but it just ahs to be part of the whole, and a small part at that.

Do you have anything to back this up? Or are you just talking out of your ass?

I think the main thing to take away from those articles is that that sort of diet works well for him, and because he's talking out of a very strong ass, it's at least worth considering.

All right, I actually don't know who he is and he's probably a lot stronger then me. I'm not trying to sound tough on the internet, it just doesn't seem right when someone says not getting something to eat after a workout isn't important.

He's stronger than you. Trust me.

hey guys let me say something straight out of my ass here. I'm not saying its wrong or anything to eat after your workouts. Absolutely not. What I am trying to get across to these younger lifters that read these supplement studies that say if you don't get your whey+waxy maize or whatever it is immediately after your last rep now you will lose 3.72389oz of muscle that you may have built. Its simply obsessing over something that at most peoples level will not make on damn bit of difference. Your amino acid pool is not empty or anything that has been thought up to make people become Obsessive Compulsive about eating. Yes, what you eat before is what I feel is much more important than what is after. 1 cup of milk which is like 6gms of EAAs (I think?) can stay in your system up to over 4 hours and stimulating an anabolic response.

So here is my suggestion- about an hour or so before you workout drink 8oz glass of whole raw milk(if you can get it)and apple and a handful of almonds and a few brazil nuts. Afterwords, and I am not saying immediately, if you get hungry have a little bite of something. But whats better is just getting relaxed and some sleep if you have eaten plenty of nourishing food earlier in the day.

here just for example is what I ate today

730am- 1 cup of coffee with some H&H

200pm- 1lb of grassfed beef liver w/bacon, onions and apple, 1 cup of milk

530pm- glass of milk, pear, almonds, brazilnuts, 2 peices of dark chocolate

before I lifted I drank some of Atlarge nutritions Results because chris Mason sent me a tub to test.

And thats it. I probably won't eat much of anything until tomorrow afternoon or evening.
