If you just want my personal opinion, a couple of years seems fair. Obviously longer if his opponent is killed or crippled. Combat sports are dangerous enough even when people play by the rules.

That's mutual based on agreed upon terms, and someone is purposefully going outside those agreed upon terms (cheating) in order to increase their chances at the cost of their opponents health.

The fact that they agreed to fight is irrelevant once the rules are broken. Two people agree to fight in the street, making it 'legal.' Then go ahead and pick whatever metaphor you think works. One person then - uses brass knuckles? Picks a branch up and swings it? Starts punching the opponent on the ground, even though they agreed to stand? Choose anything. It's now illegal. Charges can and should be pressed. Not "attempted murder"? Fine. Some degree of assault? Endangerment? Whatever it is, you have to concede it's criminal, because any other opinion is idiotic

There is absolutely no excuse or reason that agreeing to fight on specific terms means fuck all when those terms are broken is such premeditated and purposeful ways
