News Mike Jackson is BACK!! (CM Punk's last opponent)

Why would they bring in an 0-0 guy to make Mickey look legitimate? That makes no sense. If they wanted Mickey to look legit they would have brought in someone better. Both Gall and Jackson were fighting for a chance to take on Punk. Gall was clearly the favourite, but I guarantee if Jackson had beat Gall they would have given him Punk next instead of Gall getting the fight.
Because the casuals don't know the difference. When they marketed Punk-Gall, they didn't talk about how Jackson being a total can. They just talk about Gall being 2-0 with a win in the UFC; and it gave them footage of Gall destroying someone inside the octagon. Perhaps you weren't paying enough attention back then, but they were already marketing Punk-Gall before they brought Jackson in. To jog your memory, Dana "found" Gall on the second episode of his Looking for a Fight show. Mickey crushed a can and then immediately called out Punk. Everyone at the time knew the whole thing was staged. Then they brought Jackson in as cannon fodder for Mickey before the Punk fight.

Yeah no shit, I know the backstory, but my whole point was that if their plan had backfired and Jackson had beaten Gall, they would have simply given Jackson the CM Punk fight.

Dean Barry’s last opponent.

That's a hot ring girl if you live in a trailer park.

hopefully he comes in and gets a highlight reel 1st round KO and jumps the cage to cuddle dana

He never meant to make dana cry
He could have finished like trillion times
I am sorry on behalf of jackson
I am for real

I just tried to bet 10 bucks on Jackson at +750
Accidentally sent twice
So if he somehow wins it's 160 bucks lol
Probably rip 20 bucks but yolo

There are literally random Sherdoggers that could beat up Mike Jackson and CM Punk with minimal to no training. Fucking hilarious how they both had multiple fights in the UFC
I said it then and I stand by it; UFC missed a golden opportunity to get a cross gender fight booked. They should have done everything they could to get Punk in there with Nunes or Cyborg. His first fight was around the same time Cyborg was having all those issues making weight and the UFC was trying to figure out how they could support a star with no one in a division to fight. So there’s your solution.

She would have absolutely mauled him too.

I was doing my Tapology picks and saw this bum was fighting again and came on here to try and make sense of it but still can't.

This is some Bellator tier shit and just a bad look overall. I think I'm going to personally tell Dana the UFC has fallen off fam.

Yeah Jackson was the second attempt to give him a winnable fight.

fun fact to the haters. Mike Jackson's professional combat sports record is 8-2.. but he got it screwed down to 7-2 cause he had the devil's lettuce in his system for the punk fight.

who knows what kind of monster he would have been had he started a little bit younger instead of in his mid 30s. dat head moobment was sick

No they can’t. UFC isn’t allowed to cut you if you’re coming off a win unless they have a valid reason like when a fighter breaks the code of conduct (if you were arrested, make a rape joke tweet, etc etc).
Do you have a source for this? Sounds pretty strange. Who made that rule? Is it in their contracts? Who enforces it?

He was good on the Mic Dana missed a chance to milk some
$’s outta him.

they need to have a reason to essentially fire you. Losing fights, breaking code of conduct rules, etc. if they don’t like your style, find you boring, they either wait till you lose a fight and then cut you quickly or they let you fight out your contract and then don’t make an offer to re-sign you. They were going to do that to Colby but then he cut his Brazil promo and started to become a character.

37 yr old Mike Jackson (0-1) is fighting this weekend at UFC FN 205 against Dean Barry (4-1) at Welterweight after a 4 YEAR layoff. Easily the most interesting fight of the night.

Khamzat who??

Look at the head movement!

Aren't UFC contracts always a set number of fights?

yeah but you’re not guaranteed to finish out your contract. If you sign a four fight deal and lose your first three fights and they decide to cut you, you don’t owe them that fourth fight because you’ve essentially been fired.

So no source?
