I also thought : "WTF?".
I checked it out and it's coming up to 4 years since he fought CM Punk in 2018, and he hasn't fought since, anywhere, since June 2018.
All I can think is that the UFC is clearly trying to find the "next Irish MMA star" and Dean Barry is a possibility in their view (as well as Ian Garry).
So ....my guess is they just found someone that Dean Barry can knock over fairly fast and so made a call to Mike Jackson.

No they can’t. UFC isn’t allowed to cut you if you’re coming off a win unless they have a valid reason like when a fighter breaks the code of conduct (if you were arrested, make a rape joke tweet, etc etc).
