News Mike Jackson is BACK!! (CM Punk's last opponent)

37 yr old Mike Jackson (0-1) is fighting this weekend at UFC FN 205 against Dean Barry (4-1) at Welterweight after a 4 YEAR layoff. Easily the most interesting fight of the night.

Khamzat who??

Look at the head movement!

WAR JACKSON
<{JustBleed}>

fight cm punk in UFC and still doesn't have a single UFC win lol

0-1-1

And what’s hilarious is Dana said he’d never fight in the ufc again. Likely the ufc tried to buy out his contract but Jackson told them no so they still owed him another fight because they can’t cut you off a win without valid reason.

Wouldn't the drug test NC have been a reason to cut him?

The fact that this guy is fighting in the UFC is completely bizarre.
Dana said the UFC only has the best fighters in the world. Therefore Mike Jackson is one of the top fighters in the world. What don't you get???

Who told you any of that was true? And he didn't even win his last fight. It was a NC

lmao what a troll

This dude had his life's savings on him vs CM punk going the distance

I thought he got insta cut for that

he did win it, but it was changed to a NC way later and they still owed him a fight. Likely he’s on a three fight contract and this will be his last one.

I hope he comes out wearing a glitter glove and brings his son blanket along with him

Mickey wasn't an mma noob, he was a bjj ace with 1 fight. A legitimate prospect.

I think Gall made the most of his opportunity. The guy got better and has had some good performances win or lose. He will only be a journeyman at his peak... But that's fine.

Why would they bring in an 0-0 guy to make Mickey look legitimate? That makes no sense. If they wanted Mickey to look legit they would have brought in someone better. Both Gall and Jackson were fighting for a chance to take on Punk. Gall was clearly the favourite, but I guarantee if Jackson had beat Gall they would have given him Punk next instead of Gall getting the fight.

That might have happened, but Dana or the UFC never said it would. Only that Gall would get the Punk fight if he won.

how does this dude get shots like this, when theres people i know on the local circuit that are way more legitimate that can do better.

Thats why UFC arguably doesn't have the best fighters it can get.

Just like in life, its not what you know, but who you know.

I have a government job where promoting should be some type of standard, but it goes by who knows who first.

I had an old boss from Morocco a while back at an old job and I will never forget what he told me when I brought up some unfair treatment at work, he said “Life’s not fair”

WTF was I supposed to say? I left it at that.

One career fight on a local circuit is the definition of MMA noob. If it weren't for Dana looking for an opponent for Punk, Mickey likely would have been a couple years away from getting called up to the UFC (if it ever actually happened).

A bjj ace who has won grappling tournaments by definition isn't a noob. Or do you think Royce at UFC 1 was a noob?

That might have happened, but Dana or the UFC never said it would. Only that Gall would get the Punk fight if he won.

Yeah but you gotta read between the lines. Jackson would’ve been 1-0 if he beat Gall, a perfect opponent for 0-0 CM Punk

Was that actually confirmed? If so, that's dirty. Lol

No. Not confirmed in the slightest and most likely not true at all.

I just can’t for the life of me come up with a better explanation for that fight playing out the way it did
