That's a shame because you can actually learn a lot from online classes if you're actually interested.
I earned a Masters from Penn State in Data Science and that was online. It was hard as hell because I didn't use any AI or other cheating methods.. but because I made it hard on myself I have been able to learn and utilize many of the concepts and tools I learned in my coursework throughout my career.
I didn't know anything about programming before I took those courses, but I learned how to use R, Python, and VBA in the 5 semesters I took. Very useful stuff.
Absolutely. You also took a tough subject. Some of the people I've known took basket weaving equivalent degrees like leadership, criminal justice, etc ...then they'd struggle writing a half a page error riddled report. I've also known people to openly "joke" about using chatGPT to do their coursework but also later try to pretend it was all them ...
I've also known someone who did a legit online advanced coursework with a statistics/data analysis background. But he's also a very smart guy. He worked in banking. Like you he learned to code in a very similar way. Not sure what he does now.
