I predicted a while back that Cody would eventually be the one to dethrone MM at Flyweight after he regained his championship at Bantamweight. This is still my prediction, but regardless of whether it happens or not, who do you believe would win if these two squared off at 125 pounds? Cody is 11-1 and beat Dominick Cruz at his own game despite the huge gap in experience between the two. He also nearly had Dillashaw finished in the first round of their first fight. Do you think he'd have what it took to bring down Mighty Mouse at his own weight class?

If only MM wanted to fight someone legit.

What are you talking about, MM would take that fight in a heart beat.

For the very reasonable sum of one hundred million dollars.

MM would school Cody...and everyone who has posted on here thus far are morons who clearly have no knowledge of MM and willing to post based on ignorance.

Ouch.

He wouldn't fight TJ who was willing to go to FLW unless he got a ridiculous amount of money. Ducked the biggest challenge of his career to fight cans.

That's definitely a possibility, but Cody has fast hands, great footwork, and a better fight IQ than he's credited for, and if he connects at the right moment with one of his hands, it could well be over. The idea of him getting a decision win over Demetrious is a lot more far fetched, but the same was said of him getting one over Cruz as well and that happened, so why not?

125 Cody will look like something like that

It's a possibility for Cody to win...but how well will his power translate to 125? Can he even match MM's speed? MM also mixes his striking with wrestling/grappling very well, so how well can he deal with that? I'm not saying he has no chance...cuz everyone has a chance in any fight...but I wouldn't put money on it.

He asked for proper compensation. He was being strong-armed into taking a fight he was DENIED previously (at BW), with no guarantee TJ could even make the weight cut. TJ and MM both agreed to terms that the UFC didn't...but keep spewing ignorance like a moron. These so-called "cans" are higher level fighters than anyone Cody has fought not named TJ or Dom, but keep spewing your ignorant hate.

Why would his power not translate to 125? He'd be moving down, not moving up - Concerns over your power not having the same affect in a different weight class almost always exist in situations where you're moving up to face bigger guys who can presumingly take your punches better. Cody would be moving down and while Johnson used to fight at 135, he was pretty small for the weight class.

I think MM will fight TJ or Cody in December at either 231 or 232

Cutting weight normally takes away power, IE DC KTFO'ing guys like BF Silva and Stipe while not having the same power at LHW. More weight equals more power behind punches...doesn't it? o_O

Nobody has a guarantee that his opponent makes the weight cut these days.

Depends on how much you rehydrate after you make weight. Larger men who cut an absurd amount of weight are criticized for it because by the time they rehydrate before the fight, they still have a pretty hefty weight advantage. Bone size and density also accounts for much of it, not just body weight.

Well DC had to watercut 30 pounds and campcut 10 vs HW where he just rolled off the KFC booth.

Cody just has to cut an additional 10 from where he usually cuts, he should have a similar amount of power, vs MM it should be one punch power.

MM squeaks his way to a decision win imo
