Mighty Mouse on why Khabib isn't on his GOAT list

-wins title by beating #11
-1st defense against a FW clown
-2nd defense against a former FW who won his interim LW title by beating a FW
-3rd defense : missed weight, then retired

"QuAlItY oVeR qUaNtItY"

- risked everything and took #11 ranked in 1 day notice and dominated him to a 50-43 decision, the same guy that made it to the top 5 in his very next fight

- 1st defense against the 1st undisputed champ champ and lineal FW and LW champion. He dominated him, rocked him and finished him after all that cheating.

- 2nd defense against the #1 ranked lw that was 9 - 1 (1), arguably 10-1.

- 3rd defense against highly dangerous d1 wrestler with legit one punch ko power, after made him look like a bum he made the ultimate sacriface and made the most selfless thing in retiring at his very peak to fullfill his promise to his mother and all of this after his father passed away.

Stay mad little hater

Khabib is obviously great. But longevity is one of the fundamental pillars of any GOAT discussion. Three title defenses simply isn't enough to even be considered. Not even close. I don't think he needs to take rematches; in fact, I'd say that fresh challengers generally do more for a champion's legacy than rematches. And there are plenty of ranked guys Khabib hasn't fought; he's only fought 3 out of the current top 15.

It's pretty dubious to say someone is the GOAT when he hasn't cleaned out his division, meanwhile there are other fighters who have cleaned out divisions 2-times over.
Longevity... yet people like you say BJ was a better lightweight than Khabib even though he hasn’t won a fight in a decade. Longevity is a fallacy because there will always be new contenders. And the longevity argument favors Khabib since he is undefeated.

I think that Mighty Mouse' record, by itself makes him one of the best, if not the best p4p fighter of all time, and is one of the fighters that could be argued to have cleaned a division since the UFC at some point had a hard time trying to find challengers for this guy (remember Ray Borg)?

He achieved such a status in Flyweight that when Henry Cejudo managed to get in a condition to take a close decision off DJ, he also ended up being good enough to literally erase TJ and then take the Bantamweight title despite having a size disadvantage without much problem.

DJ is criminally underrestimated here and his skills in his prime are arguably > every other featherweight except Cejudo during his time + pretty much every single bantamweight.

That being said, it seems like Figgy's presence in the UFC really stole DJ's thunder since judging from the guy's performances, I don't he loses to TJ.

honestly even beating 2 top 5 guys makes khabibs record more impressive than mighty mouse.

and i like mighty mouse. but his division is a joke compared to lightweight in terms of skill level.

I'd like to think your comment is a joke. Johnson finished Benavidez, Cejudo and Horiguchi. Which of Khabib's two wins are more impressive than that, let alone than Johnson's much longer string of defences?

What about MM's 3 losses and all his close decisions? What about the times he got dropped? What about being in a division so weak they did a 4 man tournament to crown a champion?

Nobody is making the claim Khabib is GOAT bc of title defences, its because of domination.

But again everyone is biased they will pick criteria that suits their fighter.

FLW division aka midget weight division produced the worst skilled fighters on the roster (bar MM). Only his "fans" would attempt to brainwash you into believing that he beat highly skilled fighters. His division was so weak that he has defended his belt multiple times against the same person and many times fighters outside the top 10.

but he's still correct. nurmagomedov doesn't have the title defenses.

Quality over quantity, also 29-0
well, that 29 number has a lot of quantity type wins....... MM has a ton of title defenses, and faced more quality fighter by definition.

To be fair he lost that fight against Dominick Cruz then moved to the lowest weight division of UFC
To be fair, Johnson was only training twice a week up until the McCall rematch while working a full time construction job.

- Blatantly DUCKED Dillishaw and opted to fight Ray friggin Borg in a UFC title fight
Firstly, Dillashaw wasn't the champion at the time and had never competed at Flyweight, so there was no guarantee that he could make the weight, and if he didn't then it wouldn't count as a title defense, thereby preventing Johnson from breaking the consecutive defense record. Secondly, Johnson said he'd fight Dillashaw, but that if Dillashaw missed weight then Johnson would get his purse; despite their so-called "guarantee" that Dillashaw would make weight, they weren't willing to put their money where their mouths were and turned down the offer (which shows how empty their guarantee was to begin with).

- Fought the Tim Elliots, Chris Carrioso, John Moragas, etc of the UFC in title fights... embarrassing.
All of the modern UFC champions have those kinds of fights in their defenses, singling out Johnson for three (out of eleven) is nothing more than your bias showing.

- Had a make believe weight class created because he couldn’t cut it at BW
Why are you acting like Johnson himself created Flyweight? And getting to fight for the BW title when training only twice per week while working a full time factory job is astonishing.

- Got beat by Cejudo and sent packing to the minor leagues.
Many thought he won against Cejudo; furthermore, his TKO victory over Cejudo trumps a controversial decision.

most of MM’s wins come via controversial decisions: Torres, Dodson 1, Uncle Creepy, Joe B 1, etc.
Factually that's wrong: 17 of his 30 wins were by KO, TKO, or Submission; which means the majority of his wins didn't even make it to decision.

100% of the media favored Johnson in his first fight against Dodson; 57% of the media favored Johnson in the first McCall fight; 100% of the media favored Johnson in the second McCall fight; 80% of the media favored Johnson in the first Benavidez fight. And even if we ignored all of that and pretend like all those fights were "controversial decisions", that only accounts for 13% of his total wins (which is again, factually not "most of MM's wins").

Also you can’t call him evading the Dillishaw fight anything other than ducking. The dude complained about fighter pay for years and when the UFC tried to book him a “super fight” he turns it down to pad his record with a guy like Ray Borg who doesn’t have any business in the UFC let alone a title fight.
Johnson called out Cruz, Dillashaw, and Garbrandt while they were all champions and his only demand was a $1-2 million TOTAL purse, but the UFC didn't want to pay that small amount in spite of them claiming it was a "super fight"; the fight falling through is on the UFC, not Johnson.

This is...incredibly dumb to be honest. Typically it would appear the further down in weight you get, the more skilled the fighters tend to be

Mighty Mouse is clearly the more skilled
Mighty Mouse got ourwrestled and controlled by Henry who's not even half the grappler Khabib is.

"the further down in weight you get, the more skilled the fighters tend to be"

that's bs too, the average man's size is between 145 and 170 which makes lw naturally the most inhabited and most competitive

His record is too padded.

His last fights were impressive but he left too soon.

If you look at just his record/wiki yeah he's a goat.

Unfortunately there are many doubts left in my mind.

Number of title defenses doesn't matter if the depth of your division isn't great.

i dont know who the GOAT is but it sure aint no viewers on twitch MM

Quality over quantity, also 29-0
Also he has literally never been hurt or in any real danger at all in his career.

He literally has never bled in his whole career and never made a single mistake at all fighting at the highest level.

No one has ever done that, simple

Mighty Mouse is clearly the more skilled fighter than Khabib, and i have the tendency to agree with his assessment. Khabibs strength of schedule is incredibly lacking. The guy fought 13 times during his 8 years in the UFC. Cerrone has fought 13 times since 2017.
how often u fight doesnt actually determine weather fighter A is better than fighter B

Its the wins, losses, level of opposition and how you win the fights
