The number of people in my circle of friends, colleagues and associates that were un-vaccinated and got extremely sick is shocking, and it happened all at once starting two months ago. Some hit close to home - people I really care about who were young and hospitalized.

Plenty of breakthrough cases in my extended circle (I live in a densely populated city) in the dozens, but all very mild.

Prior to delta I was less judgemental about folks refusing the vaccine, they were just dragging this thing out and putting elderly and immunocompromised at risk. Whole different thing with delta. The unvaccinated are denying healthcare to everyone which is having a cascading effect on society at large. Really awful stuff.
 
This is disappointing, I expected Miesha to look terrible in her last fight, so this was intriguing.

Anyway, nothing new with Covid taking a toll, and actually credit to the UFC for just constantly rolling on with these fight cards.

Love it.

Got Covid… and are 100% fine.

Sadly, what you're recounting is beginning to be the norm.

.............FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY HAVE A NETWORK OF COLLEAGUES AND FRIENDS.

A LOT of people are just..........lonely nodes in a sparse web of nothing....flailing aimlessly in toxic winds.

I on the other hand (like you) know a lot of people, and yes, shit is..............REAL.

Anti-vaxxers (who do not have immune issues, etc) are............"special" indeed.

I live in the most densely populated city in American where it first made landfall, so the number of people I know who had covid is in the hundreds. Uncountable at this point.

Prior to delta, young and otherwise healthy people I knew that had mild course of illness was the standard. Some had annoying lingering effects, some virtually nothing.

Since delta, the number of unvaccinated people I know who were hospitalized is truly terrifying. Bi-lateral pneumonia, kidney problems, heart ... its bad news. Its not like last year at all.

It all started in The War Room when I called the Trump vs Biden election a win for Biden a few hours before the actual result...I did it on ACCIDENT no less, and ASKED mods to delete it. In said post, I talked shit about Trump, but I know Biden is shit regardless and I've talked shit about him too.

Then...it snowballed from there, as certain mods have it in for me.

For example, I got dubs one time for calling someone whose name is @nostradumbass a..."dumbass". -_-

It's all very funny/cruddy, but whatever.
 
Mandate all staff and athletes to get vaccinated and you dont have to worry about this BS

Impossible to know of course, but if we can speculate, I wonder how likely/unlikely the average fighter is to take covid precautions i.e. vaccination, masks, hand washing, etc.

I'm guessing they're less likely than the average joe. Just a feeling.

Seems like it'd be an obvious choice to make when there's even an outside chance of catching a case like Chimaev, much less getting pulled from a given fight.

from what I've seen of most guys, they aren't very much into getting vaccinated and plenty are on the MAGA train and hate the communists/socialists (they don't know what they are so they call em both) that are the leftists.

lol, Dana last year was talking about how everyone is gonna get covid and it is what it is.

Saw him at the Raiders home opener in the crowd though so know he himself is vaccinated. They don't let you in there without it.

Of course Dana is vaccinated. Everyone with money is vaccinated. All of the folks on Fox News who are chirping misinformation talking down the shots are vaccinated, as they are literally not allowed in the building without it, as mandated by Fox top down.

Its extra deplorable when wealthy people who are fully vaccinated talk out the side of their mouth in public because its good for business in the redneck states.
