Media Michael jai white need a ego check

I don't think Mike Perry is a UFC caliber fighter but this guy is fucking delusional.

He thinks that a guy Perry's size couldn't hurt him.....Meanwhile he's never had a pro fight in any martial art in his career?

It's this mentality that allows "chi masters" to wiggle their fingers from across the room and "throw" their students.

It's always a bit about potential, secret knowledge, etc... Never any proof needed.

Also cracks me up we are talking about a low level guy like Perry.

I have heard MJW now mention 225 I have heard him state 250 before and now you say 230. All of this is pretty irrelevant. Perry has no elite striking pedigree WHATSOEVER. He has talent but be honest with yourself. Perry just simply is not an excellent striker. Look at his record and who he pieced up vs who pieced him up. All professional strikers are absolutely not created equal. I would put the house on MJW based on 3 factors, he trained striking for longer and has more money to train with who he wants how he wants. You do realize Perry doesnt right? Size matters no matter how you try to brush it of. This is a fact I'm not debating you on as its beneath me. UFC weight classes prove this. The last factor is pretty simple. Perry just isnt that good and got beat up by Mickey Gall before he gassed. I suppose you think Gall would beat up MJW to huh? Dummy lol
lol. mjw ISN'T TRAINING TO FIGHT. he's not fucking bringing in sparring partners. he's not perfecting a craft. he's a fuckin actor. his physique is much more important than his ability to fight (which is a non-factor).

again, perry beat paul felder and oliveira. he's competitive with ponzi and luque. the idea that the 52 year old 6' actor with the big muscles who competed regionally in point fighting 30 years ago would easily beat these 5'10 - 6' 200 lb fighters in their fighting prime is laughable.

again, you've literally never seen mjw fight.

Right, the best way to practice fighting is to not fight.

I train both judo and bjj, and boxed/Muay Thai in my past. I've sparred full speed in all of those arts like every other fighter who trains for competition.

I don't know what you're talking about, dude. Show me MJW fighting.
I will take that as you have never trained. Let me help you here. I'm no Bruce Lee but have a couple years. The best way of training is learning the fundamentals of striking through repetition in slow motion to gradually adding speed. Drilling those movements in a controlled environment with an opponent not at 100% but offering some resistance is literally the proper method and that's just on surface. All of this you talk about he never trained against someone at 100% is for one thing the correct way. Also it implies he hasnt spared hard which is a massive speculation being as he was training full contact since the 1980's

Is he actually one of those "chi" guys?? i couldn't finish the video because it's hard to listen to delusional ppl for an extended period of time.

What illogical fuckingbpost is this? Is this your final answer? I can confirm that most to include the GOAT mma fighter NEVER train at 100% against opponents as it is to risky. You literally have created a training method in your head that goes against 99% of training gyms in history. As a matter of fact show me the gyms that preach training at 100% against fully hostile opponents as "training". I stay away from shithead places
who said anything about 100%? how about 60%? 50%?

Any person that trains striking is training to fight dummy. He just isnt training for a professional fight. This isnt complex

Dude I'm a black belt in judo with tons of competition wins and a bjj black belt with wins as well.

You're the kid in the gym that goes flying like a ragdoll when sensei wiggles his fingers from 20 feet away.

Show me MJW fighting.

what does "offering some resistance" mean?

Yes a black belt in judo. Congrats. What does that have to do with training striking btw? You literally talk about training at 100% and a bunch of other stuff that has me scratching my head. Where do they do that lol? It isnt smart

what does "offering some resistance" mean?
If I have to break down what offering resistance mean perhaps going to a gym would be a better solution than debating with me

@Al Stone Im not trying to insult you at all but look at it this way. The information about MJW is theoretical and anecdotal, in essence it it at best hearsay. He may be a good fighter in sparring but there is no proof of this and no proof of him in a real combat situation. There is of Mike Perry , and he has had some success with it in the worlds leading MMA organisation.. As bad as he looked in his last fight( I agree his striking wasn't great) , it was a real fight against a real opponent who was also a professional fighter. trying to hurt him.

From a objective comparison fact standpoint, Mike Perry is a real fighter and MJW is an athletic actor- we can speculate all day but thats the facts.

I trained Muay Thai for a bit at Sityodtong in Massachusetts, a place where many pro fighters have trained. We all sparred in a cage/ring at full speed with gloves and headgear and shin pads.

Otherwise it's dancing, mate. Not fighting.

Yeah now not only have you speculated on what MJW would do in a fist fight you've speculated on me. I wont out tough guy you there partner. Go work on your judo throws. You dont know what you're talking about on terms of striking and all that speculation would get you pieced up in life. Not by me I would laugh at your bitch ass. I

retard, you talked about him having money to train with whoever he wants, as if he's bringing in freddie roach for a fight camp. he's an actor. he doesn't need to train to fight, because he doesn't fight and isn't a fighter. he's an actor. he hasn't competed in anything in 30 years. he's not honing a craft for some purpose. he needs to look good and he needs to be able to simulate fighting for movies, like many other action actors.

I'm not here to worry about an insult or not as my skin is thick. I am telling you as fact you dudes get disillusioned over the title Professional Fighter. A person can literally train there whole life and be sharp as fuck and fighting just isn't their profession. Perry just ist that sharp. Period

he is to anyone with a brain

There are many killers out there who never competed past a certain point. he's one of them.
So is Master Steven Seagal.

offering some resistance does NOT imply simulating fight situations. if you aren't training to react to being punched in the face, kicked in the head / body / legs and KEEP fighting, then you won't be prepared to do so.

You've been exposed, mate.

Where do you train, who do you train with, and what is their rank?

Also still waiting on footage of Michael Jai "Baddest Man In History" fighting.

Offering resistance is the epitome of what is required in sparring. If you and your opponent are at 100% resistance and going all out in power you are not training you are sparring. I have never seen a trainer say otherwise but then again maybe judo is different
