Again I get the sense it started off more along the former but quickly shifted to the latter. The main hallmark of Incel's to me seems to be this lust for stories about women behaving immorality so I suspect they were drawn to communities on the net based on the former and came to dominant them shifting them towards misogyny.

If you're a single white guy in someplace like California, going MGTOW makes sense because the sexual market, societal expectations, and even the government are flat out against you. This is not hyperbole, it's literally written and documented.
