I think the rivalry might have come about simply because the countries produced a lot of fighters. And both being hispanic...maybe that's why. Maybe Mexicans ket bringing up West Side Story or something.
Out of curiosity, how many people are foregoing much of that week to go watch this fight live? I had the chance to go see Marquez-Vazquez III, and I didn't. I will NOT miss this fight.

Mexico can give any top team fits, they might not be top 10 or even top 15 but they still are a tough team

Not only that, but we seem to have Brazils number like no other country and we've won every major tourney besides the world cup, including the Sub- 17 World Cup.

My cousins and I are talking about cotto/margarito last night and I realized that this is also a Mexico Vs PR thing and It got me thinking about some fights that I saw(Salvador Sanchez/Wilfredo Gomez,Chavez/Camacho Oscar/Trinidad) .But how this rivalry really started?Is the Sanchez/Gomez the 1st Mexico Vs PR?And can you tell me some Mexico vs PR fights?

Peoplae are doing just about everything possible to get to this fight. It really exceeded all expectations. Ticketmaster sold out in 15 min and the arena is sold out as well. IF you want tickets to this fight, good luck, im barely gonna be able to get ahold of tickets.
