Honestly his showboating seems to be more him having fun. I thought it was great. Plus the psychological damage is substantial. You can't really do anything in retaliation if your confidence is shot.

Honestly, the champ coming in that much of an underdog was ridiculous to start with. Merab's not a fan-friendly fighter but he comes to work, he's paid his dues, and he just won a fight that most people had already discredited him and written him off before the fight even started. If the little fella wants to do a little showboating, he earned it.

For all the threads about how there isn’t any stars or popular fighters Merab stands out and is making the BW division a great division to watch, and for people who call him boring needs accept the sport you’re watching or just watch a entirely different sport. This fight with Nurmagomedov was great it had everything you could ask for. Merab only boring bout in recent times was the Jose Aldo fight, but you have to put into account Aldo is arguably has the best TDD in MMA even at his age Merab couldn’t do to Aldo what he does most of his opponents.

Merab doesn’t need a humbling, you just need to stop watching his fights if you think he needs one. Maybe it will feel better.

I personally love it, it’s already rare to watch a great fight between fighters with S tier skills but the taunting antics especially with the lead up & story between these 2 sent it for me.

Good luck with that. He has a serious gas tank and can go on for 10 rounds if he wanted to. He's a freak athlete with incredible endurance, amazing wrestling skillset, great standup and cardio for days. I will be surprise if anyone dethrones him anytime soon.

He is a hot-blooded Georgian. If his opponent is respectful in the manner people from that part of the world are raised to be he'd give blood to them after the fight if needed without question. If they show what he deems as disrespect he'll engage in the kind of behavior he did before/during this fight.
