Gunna bet the doesn’t go the distance for plus money

I know last one went Distance

But 5 rounds … Sean’s gotta go for the ko or go out on his shield this time

And Merab is due for a ground and pound ko win or ko loss

If Omaley can do the distance perfectly then I see him winning, knee K&O

Sheesh. Outside of this just being a dumb move, if O'Malley loses this there is a good chance he never recovers. I'm not even a fan of this goofball but this is just not a good move.
You could have put Omalley in there with Sandhagen or someone like Aldo and rebuilt him with a winnable fight.

If he gets wrestle f'd again he will go full time streamer.

Should have been Yan, whilst Omalley rebuilt. Yan has wins over 4,5,6 and should have a win against Omalley in 1. Only other match up for him is Umar, but Umar should go back and fight someone lower after skipping the division. Umar just needed some more 5 round experience and 2-3 more fights against ranked guys.

Yes Merab beat Yan, but Yan was atleast able to defend takedowns unlike everyone else in the division and has 2 great wins since that fight.

This is basically the argument everyone is making or needs to make about the current state of the sport MMA and the UFC. The best fights aren't always the best fights if they make little to no sense and can potentially ruin one's career in this what have you done for me lately sport.

I agree with you, the most boring and lame champions we have had in a very long time, so many constant rematches as well in title fights.
I have no interest atm. I never use to miss cards. It's boring AF and I think not even a mcgreho return can save Ufc. Alex loss is the ultimate nail in the coffin

Why? Why? What warranted this? Like at all? Seriously wtf?
Corruption.
-It is an obvious do-over to get the result they wanted the first time
-They couldn't get the result via fight rigging last time: both in that judges had it 2-3 despite it being a dominant Merab win and the fact Dean fixed the fight 100 times which is his job

Expect Dean to ref again. Do not bet on Merab despite him being a superior fighter.

i saw Bautista mentioned earlier in the thread
this just proves the point that I and many others made after the Aldo fight.
guy has a 7 win streak currently. but he was so fucking dull in his last fight with Aldo. he wall-n-stalled for a questionable split decision. who the hell wants to see him fight for a belt? not me, thats for sure.
I even forgot he existed until you just reminded me lol.
He didn't do himself any favors in that fight. He would have been better off losing a slugfest.

I assume if O'Malley wins we get another rematch, Merab vs O'Malley 3.
No chance they let Merab near Omalley if he pulls it off. They ran Aljo a multi time defending champ out of the division and skipped Merab for Vera initially.

They will probably bring Moutinho back in.

winning isnt the only thing that matters, which is what he was trying to claim in the post-fight conference.
then he threw shade at Aldo saying he did a similar thing vs Chito, while ignoring the fact that Aldo had Chito's back for almost an entire round while Mario just hugged Aldo against the cage and couldnt take him down. and then dove right back in when the ref separated them.
i dont usually like judging fighters outside the cage, but that was a pivotal moment of butthurt.
instead of saying "yeah, i know the fight sucked, sorry guys, but a win's a win", which probably wouldve cut him some slack, he doubled down with an irrelevant example.

i dont think he comes within spitting distance of even a title eliminator, unless he literally beats EVERYONE else in the top 10. even Belal, as boring as he is, acknowledges that his fights might not be the most exciting to watch. Mario has drawn a lot of fans' ire, and for good reason.

Getting GSP vs a contender who clearly doesn't have the grappling to hang vibe from this. Maybe Sean Condits him but knocks him out cold this time, never know ig.

That's a good point. Although is O'Malley really that marketable? I wish we had PPV sales like we used to.
