I don't know about it being a gift, but Umar's name is definitely why he is getting a title shot over Figgy.

I mean the reason why Umar even got the main event and a chance to fight Sandhagen is because of his name.

Figgy is more deserving, his accolades are better by a lot. More top ten wins and a pedigree in the neighboring weight class.


if Brandon Moreno, who is way more marketable than Figgy had been the one to move up in weight and get to top ten wins, it's entirely possible Moreno would be fighting for the 135 title.
